Predictions for Worst N00b Farmers

I've just been running through some last tests on a new stat in Map Rank which measures relative rank of defeated opponents.

The results are surprising.

I thought I'd like to see people's predictions before making this available out of interest...

So who are the worst offenders at n00b farming?

I beleive KLOBBER is more of a noob mugger. He just lies in wait, and they stumble along into his alley way. Just like real muggers, there is no real intelligence or skill needed to profit . Just wait and hope you can get away with it.

To qualify as a farmer, you actually need some type of skills and planning. A person would need to be actively looking for noobs, and convincing them to join games that the farmer is sure to win, or the farmer may join games with all new players, then beating them senseless. I have witnessed a few people manipulate unsuspecting people into games that are clearly favored to the farmer. AoR and Fuedal are popular farming grounds. Freestyle and FoG games seem to be a popular tool amongst the farmers as well. Just sit in callouts some time, and you may witness the techniques and subtle manipulation, that goes into farming unsuspecting noobs.

Glad I got the ball rolling on this one Chip- I'm interested to know as well. Rabbit has to be one of them I would think. Err- 8 man public freestyle prolly has brought my average down too I bet.

I think this is probably going to be one of the most unpopular statistics, having run this on a lot of people.

The numbers don't lie but some genuinely excellent top players will always suffer from always having to play
lower ranks, so I'm still thinking about how to shield this.

It's actually ready to go but I'm still a bit dubious about how it will be used...

As far as I'm concerned, I'd be happy if no Cooks or Chocolate Bars ever joined an 8 man game. They do more damage than anything- 3 points isn't worth the headaches. I'm sure I'll be called an elitist for this comment- it is what it is.

So Strength ratio = ratio of average rank of defeated opponents / target rank at game end time.

Is target rank your own rank? If it is, I'm bound to have a terrible strength ratio.

Just release it already chipv!! - very curious to see whether my personal assertion that I play a fair number of high ranked players is actually true!

Shouldn't strength ratio take account of the strength of your teammates too? - A brig and 3 cooks beating 4 cooks is very different from 4 brigs beating 4 cooks.

Yes, I had you in mind when I posted earlier when I checked your score (it's not that bad).

Tricky to solve - everyone is a lower rank than you so you are right!

But this was not always the case. The calculations measure the relative rank at game time.

Just a quick question.

Does this calculate the relative score of your opponent in the Calculation: |You Opponent's Points / Your Own Points|

or is it just an average of your opponents points by the time you beat them?
