excuse me? we have more higher ranked players than your rip-off clan, and more street cred with other clans. if you guys are so "bad ass", then why don't you challenge us to a battle? oh wait, we only accept challenges from CLANS, and you don't have enough members to be a clan!!!-0

I demand that you change your name, because you are not associated in any way wth the real Martial Artists clan. Heck, if we follow your train of though we should re-name this site HasboroRiskRip-offPlace.com or something.

Hmmm. It is probable that we'll end up changing the name due to the fact that you guys (for some unknown reason) decided to start one with a similar name and by lowering your standards got more people off the bat. But that hardly changes the fact that you are a martial arts fan club rather than a clan of martial artists now does it?

How many actual martial artists do you have anyway? I only counted one out of the ten that you have in your membership.

Ummm..... We don't need martial arts because.....well......

The rest of us carry guns?

Spoken like a true fan. ;)

Anyway despite the furor that we unwittingly have caused, we really are putting together a clan for martial artists. We need two more people. The clan, so far, has members from Kickboxing, Karate, Aikido, and Taekwondo. We don't care how long you've been in the martial arts (we range from just started to 27 years experience). If you would find it interesting to find out what other martial artists are practicing, then this is probably the place for you. Only two more people are necessary to round out the clan.

No lie though, one of the coolest things I've seen from a martial artist was a guy doing a monkey kung fu form. He was "playing" with a bo (basically a quarterstaff that's six feet or longer). In the middle he slammed one end of the bo on the ground and climbed the entire length of it as if it were a tree. At the top he held the position and looked around for a second then jumped down and continued his form.

I can't see any self defense application for it, but can you imagine the balance that took?

yeah, they do the same thing at a Cirque Du Solei show... but they hold it for longer than a few seconds.. not joking, just commenting on the dude running up the staff.. oddly enough, i did a job where we shot a few shows in vegas for them.. backstage, they are mostly retired gymnasts that they train to do the acrobatics.. most of the stuff is created and then taught to several people at once... even more interesting, backstage was chain smoking o'rama.. now, back to monkey style kung fu pole climbing!!!-0

Yeah, there is certainly nothing magical about it. Just people dedicating themselves to becoming good at something. I think I alluded to the same thing that you stated. In that instance it surely was showmanship. The actual self-defense applications are rarely what you'd see in movies or tournaments, but as I realized their applications they became much more impressive to me as well. I'm impressed by the Cirque du Solei folks. That kind of strength and balance is a good thing. It might even help the chain smokers ya' never know. ;)

Still looking for two to join the (soon to be renamed) martial artists of CC. A clan of people who actively practice a martial art and would like to discuss and trade ideas about the different ones.

Sorry if he blew you off. Unless that clan has a rule against it, there is no reason to quit any other clan. If you are interested; then you're welcome to join. That leaves us needing only one more person.

If I understand, you're looking for martial artists in order to complete the ranks of your clan? Do you have something against karate, iaido, okinawa no kobudo or a yudansha?

Sorry guys, but I have to agree with them. It's rather inappropriate of you to start a new clan with exact same name worded in a different order. Get creative and think of a unique name for yourselves, or go join the original martial artists clan ;)

And I think it's rather inappropriate of you guys to start a new Martial Artist clan roughly 10 days after this thread was started and then come here claiming that you were the original. Let this guy fill his clan without your trolling.

Sorry guys, I took what they said at face value without actually checking into it. I see now that my last post should have been in their thread instead of yours, since you did start your thread before Trapyoung started his.

I get the impression that there is some friendly (hopefully) razzing going on here :P
