Roller Coaster canceled

*Idea loosely based on brendan man's abandoned tournament idea.

In this tournament, you are trying to build a roller coaster! To build this successfully however, you will of course need several things. To build this roller coaster you will need: Money, Track, Pylons (support pieces), brakes, Lift Chains, Coaster Cars, Waiting Area and land. How this tournament is going to is that in every game you win you gain a certain amount of money and with this money you can buy the materials that you need to complete your roller coaster.

In more detail, how this tournament is going to work is that there will be different rounds. Each round you will have the chance to challenge someone to a game with their map and settings. If you win the game then you'll get a certain amount of money based on the player's worth (10% of their worth). You can only challenge 2 people per round but and each player can only be challenged 3 times per round.

For example, lets say redrover23b, seamusk, army of achilles, domquebec and I (Diamonds14) were in this tournament. And Army of Achilles wanted to challenge Redrover23b and seamusk, he would post in this tournament saying that he wanted to challenge those 2 players and i would set up those games for him with the map and settings of seamusk and redrover23b.

That would be a challenge. So, since Army of Achilles challenged two people that round he couldn't challenge anyone else in that round, but people could challenge Amry of Achilles if they wanted to and the first 3 people to post in the tournament will be able to challenge him. Each round will last 2 weeks.

To make the tournament more fair.. the challenger has to join the game first and the challenged can join second. Also, if you challenge someone then you cant challenge that same person for 2 rounds (can change based on amount of players). So, If I challenge Army of Achilles in round one i cannot rechallenge him until round 4.

Your starting money will depend on how many players are in the tournament. The will be 600,000 dollars amongst all of the players so your starting money will be 60,000/X many of players.

In this tournament you can be eliminated. If your net worth (your money + the things that you have bought equals less then 10,000 dollars then you will be eliminated from the tournament.

One last thing, make sure you tell me your map and settings in this tournament thread.. please no PMs other than questions.

Materials and cost:
Pylons (5 pieces at a time): 15,000 dollars
Track (5 pieces at a time): 7,500 dollar
Lift Chain: 2,500 dollars
Coaster Cars: 20,000 dollars
Waiting Area/Line: 20,000 dollars
Land: 100,000 dollars
Brakes: 2,500 dollars

Materials needed to win:
Pylons: 25 (you need to buy 5 times)
Track: 40 (you need to buy track 8 times)
Lift chain: 2
Brakes: 4
Coaster cars: 3
Waiting Area:1
Land:1

Total cost: 75,000 + 60,000 +5,000 + 10,000 + 600,000 + 20,000 + 100,000 = $330,000

If you beat someone than you will get 10% of their money.

All games will be 1 vs. 1, sequential, standard games, but other than that the settings are up to you. If you have any questions feel free to PM me or post a message. I wouldve joined but to many will play specialty maps like new world or the AOR maps and several others?
I just don't like em, and although I'm not that bad of a player I know I have a big disadvantage on them.
Also for high ranked people this game sucks,
You'll get a lot of players who will challenge you just cause you are worth the prize.
And cooks and so on will not get challenges and if they are lucky they just win from a major or so.
So this tourney idea is great! Only very inbalanced as it is right now.

I'm a bit confused... if I challenge somebody then are we playing on his map or my map? And maximum number of games per round is 5, right?

I think I'm in, I really like this type of tourney + I like Roller Coaster Tycoon computer game and it reminds me a bit of it :roll:

You can essentially choose what maps you would like to play on.. it all depends on who you challenge.. and to fix the other problem.. should we lower how much higher ranked players are worth so it wont me as big o a profit to play you all.. i think i figured that you all are majors (and higher) for a reason so you would win most of the time.. plus that people would probably be challenging the sergeant to lieutenant range mostly.And you have any way to fix this let me know! Im open to suggestions.

I like the concept, but a few questions:

1. You don't seem to have ruled out freestyle as an option?

2. Who has to join the games first - the challenger or the challenged? (very important if freestyle is included, but important for fog too)

3. Are you sure about weighting this so heavily against high ranking players? -5 wins against me would (almost) win the tournament? How about an tournament economy where wins against player who are more successful within the tournament get more money- i.e. everyone starts at the same place - otherwise I think I would just be penalised for having a high score - just an idea.

PS - I am not trying to alter your tournament, but just get some clarifications that will allow me to decide whether to join.

Suggestions are more than welcomed!!! If you think it will maket he tournament better im all about changing things! So in any of my tournaments feel free to suggest things.. especially if it makes it more fair for any ranked player.. I need to PM you to gets some clarification though..

I think freestyle is still an option.. i know personally i wont be challenging those people.. but its whatever the people want.. and about joiing the game... i think the most fair is i send out the PM it first comes first serve.. but i dont know if i want that or the challenger to be in the game already.. let me know what you think..

and for your third point.. i dont quite understand.. can you explin it more? it sounds good.. i just dont know how it will work. (and when i created the tourney i didnt mean to weigh it so much against you guys.. sorry)

Ah ok so a change that 'Benjikat was dead' was suggesting is that instead of basing the money on players ranks.. base it on how much money they have.. for example..

If so im worth 250,000 dollars and benjikat challenged me he will gain less from me then if he challenged redrover23B who is worth 500,000.. ((that was badly explained.. but look at first post for a new ranking/scoring system))

Benjikat was dead has made a suggestion that fixes the problem.. instead bases it off of the players rank, its going to be based of off how much money you have (how successful in the tournament you are).
