I was muttering about losing a game recently where there was a moderate spread of difference between my points and the winner, and was wondering:
Is there an upper limit on the number of points you can lose in a single game?
You know, if a player ever managed to lose enough games to put his score under 10, then a single victory could propel that player into the highest of ranks, while leaving the loser with negative points.
Say, a person with 8 points loses against me and a brand-new player in a 3-way game:
(1267 / 8) * 20 + (1000 / 8) * 20 = 3167 + 2500 = 5667
It would be difficult to achieve that low a score, with the formula, since one tends to lose less points as one's score goes down, but could be done with multiple accounts or cooperation by playing private games with other players with low points.
