That's a conservative, but reasonable assessment. Of course, there's a counter to every point you made. Some have speculated about a reverse Bradley effect, others have said many whites don't think they can afford to not vote for Obama because he's black. And there won't necessarily be a poor turnout for young and black voters.
I agree about it coming down to the states, however he doesn't need the traditional path you just outlined. He can win all kinds of states that Kerry or Gore never had a shot in, now. North Carolina being a prime example.

Actually, I only just got to watch it, on the DVR, and I must say, that was the McCain I used to admire and love. I truly wish we had seen more of that John McCain in the last 20 months. But something happened to him in the last 8 years. He's not the man I would have gladly followed 8 years ago.

That's what happens when you base your campaign around securing the redneck plumber vote.

And, speaking as someone living in Western PA .... it is hard to say. This area is most definitely not what you would call "diverse", but you see a lot of Obama signs and not so many McCain signs. Basically, I hear a lot of "the guy could be purple, but if he will help the economy ..."
Anyway, just thought I would throw that out.

Even though Tennessee has worked very hard, is more talented and still undefeted, they should really give a few of those wins to Detroit. It's good for everyone when you "spread it around"

Or did they teach you that you can't give a tax cut to 95% of America when about 40% currently don't pay any income taxes? I suppose that would have been your math tutor.
Gosh, look at this, there's all these words in my mouth, but none of them appear to be of my making... it's almost like somebody else put them there... but how did this happen? It's all very strange...PopeBenXVI wrote:Did your economices tutors also teach you how raiseing taxes on businesses does not create jobs?
What they taught me was that you can give a tax-cut to 95% of the tax-paying population, that it's quite possible to make a tax-cut which notionally affects 95% of the population, and that it's possible to make tax-cuts for which 95% of the population would be eligible if they had reason to rely upon them. In other words, to answer your question with a one word answer: Yes. You most certainly can do such a thing, but there will always be a few dumbfucks that don't get it and who will then confuse their mathematic ignorance as a stroke of personal genius. Those people are you Benny.PopeBenXVI wrote:did they teach you that you can't give a tax cut to 95% of America when about 40% currently don't pay any income taxes?
