That I cannot answer... I am not sure. But, if I remember correctly, I think the Monopoly had multiple threads, but don't hold me to it.max is gr8 wrote:(Towards TDs and TEs) Firstly I plan on running a large tournament soon, (this is not a question), and I do not want to be running everything through one thread, I plan to have a monthly output of 1,100 games (subject to change), so the first question is am I allowed to use 7 threads for the information (6 X 20 people a thread "Hubs" and 1 Central Thread where everything runs through)?
Are you making your sheets in Excel? [/quote](Towards all) Secondly, does anyone have a good template for a 120 player league, I have one for 20 players, and that's 23 Sheets (1 for standings, 1 for fixtures, 1 for statistics and the rest is Player by Player information for the rest of it to work (It's extremely messy so I'm not going to show you))

Yes, simor talked with Steelhorse and explained the tournament and why we needed separate threads. Also we wanted to make sure that TDs know that we'll be doing it and that way there couldn't be any confusion/locking/merging if suddenly there were 7 threads instead if 1.Natewolfman wrote:yes monopoly had multiple threads... i belive the sign ups started as 1 thread but then when it started ZZ created 6 individual threads
Monopoly did have multiple threads, but it is NOT an ideal way to do things. That is coming from a former TD. Not that my opinion really matters anymore.amazzony wrote:Yes, simor talked with Steelhorse and explained the tournament and why we needed separate threads. I should slap you. Like, now.Not that my opinion really matters anymore.

There is no problem with that side of things, but with 120 players andNight Strike wrote:What's wrong with just making a bunch of posts on the 1st page that can each hold the information for a section of the tournament? Then, you could put a table of contents in the first post linking to each divisional post (like how the handbook is laid out).
The above being relevantSecond and more important thing for players was trading and following actions of what others did in their board. In some boards trading became an important part and if there are 40 people posting then the time and energy to go through all the posts would have definitely lowered the trading aspect because going through all the posts and finding necessary ones would have been a pain in the butt.
This is not going to be up until after christmas, and I have planned this through, by then I hope to only have 2 or 3 tournaments ongoing, then I have this tournament, which I may actually change the dynamics of by then (It probably will change into several smaller tournaments, followed by a larger one, actually considering this I am wondering whether a 16 player pilot tournament might be worth runningIn addition, it is a time-consuming,logistical nightmare for the organizer to maintain it. Are you sure you really want to jump into this endeavor? Cuz once you're in it, you're in it for the long haul.
