Maybe it's the only way they can get them to bathe.brooksieb wrote:why is it that ethnic minorities could get 30% cut price at a swimming pool?
Given your outstanding record of service to your country brooksie, I'd recommend trying write to your MP. They'd have to at least read your comments. It may just make a difference, however small.brooksieb wrote:Oh and PC brigade here's some news for you, why is it that ethnic minorities could get 30% cut price at a swimming pool? Ain't that a bit racist and discriminative? All these white people that agree with all this are literally shooting themselves in the foot, all the "equality" business will just make people hate minorities and would just get some group like the BNP more votes, which unfortunately is Britains' fastest growing party, due to stupid decisions like that and voting attendances going down, the choice is for the people to make, oh and wouldn't it be better for ethnic minorities and women to earn jobs fairly? Looking at some of the comments on that link what i said truth for the PC brigade, whether they like it or not.
I could try, but what i find good is if you're a British citizen there are many online petitions you can make at the British governments' website, ranging from trivial things to serious things, liberal views and conservative views, it may not work and but i've at least tried to put my name on the ones i agree with.Napoleon Ier wrote:Given your outstanding record of service to your country brooksie, I'd recommend trying write to your MP. I think religion is a personal lifestyle choice and one should expect no special treatment, swimming lessons for women I would defend but not just for Muslims or any other religious group. I dont see this as a race issue though , nobody is being excluded because of their skin colour or nationality, plenty of British born Muslim women you know.brooksieb wrote:I will try my hardest to get a link, as a temporary diversion look at this and see what you think.

well for that matter i agree with what you say, more opting for the choice of "parents learning to swim with their children", if you mean converts and white british muslims it is their choice, personally i don't understand it but i have no reason to complain there, in the meantime i will be hunting for that link though it may take sometime.joecoolfrog wrote:I think religion is a personal lifestyle choice and one should expect no special treatment, swimming lessons for women I would defend but not just for Muslims or any other religious group. If that was the case, you would have to fork out the money to hire the pool out just for yourself.Napoleon Ier wrote:Oh, so if my obscure and quirky religion stipulated that I needed the whole of the pool, just to myself, that'd be cool, yeah?

Seems a reasonable use of the pool When I was a child, the pool was reserved to children of a certain age, I believe below 12, for certain hours, for seniors at other hours, and for women with infants at even other hours. Worked out fine for all. Regulating a public pool for reasonable use by all seems very reasonable.nagerous wrote:the f*ck are you talking about cut prices for ethnic minorities, that isn't in the link at all. All the link is, is giving muslim women the right to have their own private swimming session, for they aren't allowed to expose their flesh to any other man apart from their husband in their religion...
That article was a crock of shit anyway, wahhhh my daughter wasn't allowed to go swimming because the swimming pool was booked for those damn muslims... they should go swim in their own country of origin, or not be allowed to swim at all because of their religious beliefs.
Cry me a river.
Yes I would. It would not be my "right". Regulating hours for the convenience of users due to universal, practical considerations, is very different from excluding people along personal lines.nagerous wrote:If that was the case, you would have to fork out the money to hire the pool out just for yourself.Napoleon Ier wrote:Oh, so if my obscure and quirky religion stipulated that I needed the whole of the pool, just to myself, that'd be cool, yeah?
As I said before I see no problem setting aside periods for women but why exclusively Muslim women ? There is not a safety, gender or even religious issue at stake so it simply seems to be pandering to a percieved desire, its a poor precedent to set and arguably even illegal under current British discrimination legislation. To be honest I feel nonsense like this distracts from the serious aspects of discrimination and simply fuels the vile propoganda of racist scum such as the BNP.mpjh wrote:Seems a reasonable use of the pool When I was a child, the pool was reserved to children of a certain age, I believe below 12, for certain hours, for seniors at other hours, and for women with infants at even other hours. Fucking hell did you even hear what i said?! "This is a diversion" "I will find the post as soon as possible" do you have some sort of reading disorder? And to put the cherry on top i was keeping neutral, i was asking someone a opinion, shit someone needs to read the post properly.nagerous wrote:the f*ck are you talking about cut prices for ethnic minorities, that isn't in the link at all. If you can get a billion or two people to buy into that religion (admittedly, not too hard) you''ll be able to find a pool somewhere.Napoleon Ier wrote:Oh, so if my obscure and quirky religion stipulated that I needed the whole of the pool, just to myself, that'd be cool, yeah?

Sure we would, but it would be wrong for us to seize a public swimming pool for ourselves and evict all other religious groups from it on the basis that they're dirty and unworthy of sharing the water with us.spurgistan wrote:If you can get a billion or two people to buy into that religion (admittedly, not too hard) you''ll be able to find a pool somewhere.Napoleon Ier wrote:Oh, so if my obscure and quirky religion stipulated that I needed the whole of the pool, just to myself, that'd be cool, yeah?
DRTFA, but from what people are saying, a group of women is using their Islamic faith in order to restrict use in a public pool to them - this seems dicey, ethically. If this was an option made available to any group that wanted it, free of charge, that might be ok, but then we'd have some Crisis of the Commons issues.

Hang on, that's an on-the-basis-of-which I was accusing Moslems of using. Are you saying they're disgusting for believing it?radiojake wrote:Napoleon Ier wrote:
