INSTALL SURRENDER BUTTON...

Postby timthetuneman on Fri Dec 12, 2008 10:19 pm

Want to decrease deadbeating by 90%...???

Install a SURRENDER BUTTON... This allows a person who must quit a game to openly do so... This instills certainty in the minds of the remaining players that the "quitter" is really gone and will not come back later to beat them... The "quitter's" armies turn white immediately upon surrender...

We all have real lives and bad connections and need to quit games sometimes... This gives a fair way to do so...

SUGGESTION: a quit option

Postby hellgunner23 on Wed Jan 07, 2009 9:55 pm

I'm new here, and i have 4 games running but am also tryingto get into a tournament game, however as a freemium, i can't do anything but wait because all the other players in the game are taking too long. So, to make the game better i think that if there was a quit option ingame, and someone were to use it, then all of their territories will turn neutral with the same amount of people that the player had.

There was originally a surrender option, but that was taken out maybe a month or two after the site was created. It's been suggested, it's been rejected because it's very subject to abuse. If you don't want to play in a game that started, finish it or deadbeat are the only two options ;)

WHOA! Intentional deadbeating is a big no-no! Don't do that you will just land yourself in a whole heap of trouble, it's just not worth it. Better to join games selectively than to deadbeat out of a game simply because you no longer want to play that game. Plus you'll be annoying other players and get yourself some bad ratings, it's more hassle than it's worth, fullstop.

*Back to the topic being discussed*

Nope, no surrender, either be prepared to play the whole game or don't join. I agree with Gilligan that such a button would be open to 9 different shades of abuse. Way, way too much trouble and a massive headache for the site admins to deal with all the new threads that would surely flood into the Cheating & Abuse forum with it's implementation/reinstatement.

Sometimes you have to deadbeat out.... a notorious shitbag of a player, Dom Quebec refused to kill me in one of my games and I had to deadbeat. CC wouldn't do shit about it.

Those are the exceptions to the rule. Like when the rule of thumb is it's ok to babysit for your teammates and it doesn't make you a multi and you don't "really" profit from it but it's not ok to let others post with your account because all of you are clearly multis with each other and are abusing the system for your profit.

That said, a surrender or quit option won't be (re)implemented in my nor your lifetime.

then i guess it's good im a teenager... and the reason i want to surrender is bcuz im playing in a tournament and the people im playing with in the game ( not the tourny) are taking almost all their time to play, so, i have about 20 some odd hours to finish atleast one game...
This is a problem for me, since i am not able to upgrade to premium either

And what is a multi? is it a person with more than 1 account? cuz if so I am NOT a multi. I follow the rules at sites i like and this is a good site

There are options open to you, you could e.g. upgrade your account. That way you can play more then 4 games. You could also talk to the people in the game you are in and ask them to take you out. And there are other options. Its more on what you line you want to take yourself. Complaining that other people play at different times then you, hence the using a lot of time, is really a bad argument.

I've witnessed this, I think as long as you announce to everyone that you'd like to be killed off quickly people generally don't mind
Important Tournament Notice

The data for ALL of my tournaments has potentially been lost. I am working to recover it but as I am away on business all of this week, there will be some delay. Sincere apologies.

You mean as in game http://www.conquerclub.com/game.php?game=3972617 where you were taken out?
Oh I see 2 other games where you were not taken out, I can also tell why, they are full of ? Anyways, more luck next time, and do not start games you do not want to finish.
good luck

there is the quit option, do not take your turns in sequence , and you are out of the game..
There is also the option to go gold, and that way you can play a lot more games at the same time. You will never get bothered by eternal games again

How about if your units on the map ever total'd 3 or less? Maybe 2 or less? I donno.

This way, you are obviously out of the game. And people are just refusing to eliminate you.

Donno, just a thought.

you say you can't go premium, do you not know any other CC players you could send the cash? or can your parents not do it for you?

Suddenly this suggestion just became more appealing! :D But still leaves it open to abuse by multis. :|

Bring back the surrender button -- thread missing

Postby WranglerTractor on Thu Jan 15, 2009 11:07 pm

I read the instructions before posting I promise!! And I know that the 'surrender button' topic was listed in the "Rejected" pile, but when I click the link: viewtopic.php?t=1754 it leads me to "The requested topic does not exist."

I think a surrender button is a good idea because, for example I'm in a game right now where the victor is already most certainly decided (it ain't me) but the game could easily last another week before it's over. That's no fun!

I'm only posting this because I was curious to see why the surrender button was rejected, and like I said, the link provided no insight.

Thanks.

friend playing each other than surrendering to get quick points

i think if given x times to surrender per x games it might curve the chaeting. You would
not be allowed to store surrenderds. So once you hit X amount of games played the surender
amount would be reset. This would though be quite a pain in the butt to pull off and prob
would be worth doing.

I just thought I would try to find a solution to the problem .....

suicide is dangerous........

Postby wannaseemytreat on Fri Jan 16, 2009 4:49 pm

please help!!!

conquer club is a brilliant site and its great to be a part of it,however, games can take a while as we all know and at some point in the not too distant future i`ll probably go on holiday etc etc.
ive seen this topic discussed and dismissed but i cant see any way that i can leave my pc and not do CC without incurring loss of points and the wrath of my peer group

can we not have a suicide/surrender button or option included?
