Good point. Maybe "ridiculed" is the wrong word. Mocked? No. Called a rascist redneck? Maybe.
They have the full right to call you a rascist redneck if they think you're one. If they're wrong it just makes them look like idiots.
I think I'm more annoyed by the lack of attention to the real reasons behind the tea parties. Instead of focusing on why people support the things, many members of the media focused on making tea bag jokes (admittedly, very funny) or calling the people at the protests rednecks, racsists, anti-government, Republicans, tools of the wealthy, etc. I think discussion about the issues surrounding the tea party is more constructive than talking about whether someone can talk while teabagging or whether "Morans" was spelled correctly.
Yes, but nobody cares about the reasons behind it. It would also be far better if the news focused on actual stories of interest rather than how many people got killed last night. But that would grip less viewers so they don't. Only newspapers can get away with reporting that stuff because they don't have to try so hard to stop people from reading other newspapers.

So...actually. f*ck watching both Olbermann and Glen Beck, read a newspaper for your news.

Actually, they didn't.

All of the major independent surveys taken before the bailout package was implemented indicated that public opinion was in favour of a stimulus package (admittedly, it wasn't unanimous).

The idea that nobody agreed with the bailout plan is a complete fiction, it's really nothing more than a bogus claim made by those who didn't get their own way. To tell the truth, I'm a little bit sick of hearing it get bandied about so much by people who think it's true.
hmmm... then why did our politicians, like Pelosi, suggest that they did what they thought was best, even though the majority thought that the bailouts were bunk?

Far less. And more importantly they tend to treat more subjects so that even if there is bias, there is at least attention paid to things that happen.

Also they are unable to tell you what to think.

It has been my experience that newspapers are generally less biased. If you want bias in newspapers you can get it in the editorial section usually, but you generally won't get it in the actual news stories. Where the bias in newspapers may come is from under-reporting or not reporting stories. So I generally agree with Snorri. I do like watching Olbermann and the Daily Show and listening to Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity (very differing views and very entertaining).

And even that doesn't happen much because they need to fill out their pages. The only thing that shows bias is what they focus on on the frontpage and so.

You mean like how most of the people didn't want the Iraq Invasion? You mean like how most of the people didn't vote for George W. Bush in 2000? You mean like how most people have been deeply opposed to the use of torture by our government in the last 8 years, including the clown you Republicans fielded for the election this time around?

You are so deluded. You don't even have any source for your made up statistic. So keep on crying about it. Taste those bitter tears. Doesn't feel so great, huh?

Oh, and hey genius, explain to me how half the stunts the Bush Administration weren't sedition. Leaking the name of a CIA agent? I mean, just for one pretty obvious example. See, you're wrong about the government committing sedition, since the stimulus was voted on by our democratically elected representatives. That puts the stimulus on the same footing as the Iraq Invasion. Congress made that call.

But leaking the name of a CIA agent who was active in the field? That's not an act of Congress. You're just way off base here, captain.

LOL... I agree with you on Bush! He was a terrible President. The problem is that Obama is equally as bad, if not worse. Bush paved the way for this monster, but your media has you so far to the left, just because it isn't the right, that you haven't come to see it yet. What a dangerous situation we find ourselves in when we are so eager to vote against one party that we will vote for the other, no matter who the candidate is.

Well that is strange. People who are against the bail-out are more likely to complain about it?

huh... I asked you not to share that here. Well, there you go prickdave... you have my link.

You can say that about the bailouts if you want too... but I never heard anything, even from liberal media, about supporting the media. Maybe that was because it was Bush that was asking for it, and McCain was for it. yeah, I am sure that was it. Wait... somehow, that just doesn't sound right. Well... Obama supported it. Oh, thats right... It must have only been when tea Parties came into existence that liberals started thinking that abusive and frivolous government spending was a Right Wing Conspiracy.

I just gave you the facts, as presented by a liberal news source, and you still won't buy it? You are hopeless (save for the home that Obama wants to buy for you with the money earned by others.)

You're twisting that statistic to mean something that it does not mean.

The link says: "90 percent of those who called and sent e-mail messages opposed the bailout."

You are inferring: "90 percent of all Americans opposed the bailout.

Either way! the message that Congress got was, do not do this thing. The terms of the bail out were total bullshit. No oversight, no accountability for the money, no questions asked, and no garuntee that it was even going to be used for what they said it was going to be used for, in fact, a clear statement that they could and likely would change their minds on what to use the money for? You are making me laugh if you propose that this was good legislation. Politicians that voted for this are on the same drugs that the majority of you are, it seems.

... Fascinating. Susan Roesgen (CNN babe) is the woman who interviewed the folks at the Chicago tea party and got into a shouting match with demonstrators after hurling insults at the attendees and portraying them as, even saying they were, "Right Wing Radicals".

... The video of Roesgen filmed by a random person present at the tea party, the video in which Susan Roesgen is severely dressed down by a woman armed with both facts and intelligence ... is gone (a discussion of the Federal Reserve). Looking for it I see, "This video is no longer avaiable due to copyright claim by Cable News Network".

... Recall, she shouted her offense at a tea party demonstrator holding a sign drawing a comparison between Obama and a German dictator. The video of Roesgen comparing GW Bush to Adolph Hitler (post Katrina in New Orleans) has also vanished mysteriously.

... What the hell?

Partly from the Sean Hannity forums, which are hilariously depressing. Partly from happening to hear the bigots calling up talk radio shows (I listen when I'm tired behind the wheel. they keep me awake), partly from the mouth of that fat, worthless piece of shit, Rush Limbaugh. Remember what he said about Donovan McNabb?

Also, I saw Michael J. Fox on the Daily Show last night (he appeared a week or two ago, but I haven't been watching much TV lately, and only caught up last night).

I'll never forgive that fat fucking prick Limbaugh. Michael J. was doing his best to hide his condition. You could just tell that he's embarrassed by it, and has far more courage than Limbaugh ever will, just for appearing on TV, for having no choice but to display some weakness. It's getting harder for Michael J. to enunciate too. It's heartbreaking.

I mention all of this just to point out how ruthless the mouthpieces for your bullshit teabagging parties are, when someone happens to commit the ultimate crime of disagreeing. Or hell, in McNabb's case, just being an amazing quarterback. Maybe Limbaugh feels threatened by a black man finding success without falling into the traps of violent behavior or substance abuse. The bigotry is both surprising and unwarranted.

The point is, you can go and have your pathetic demonstrations all on your own. Thanks, but I'll skip the veiled racism, willful ignorance, and resentment of anyone who reads (Why is being elite a bad thing? Why do you hate me for having a higher IQ than you and having earned a great education? Cause that's the truth. I earned it. I've worked hard. But just because I disagree with you, you have to turn the fact that I am one of the best and brightest into some kind of a strike against me? Especially when I am known for just how humble and giving I am. Sometimes I'll use vocabulary that goes over the heads of my friends, but they all know that I'll gladly tell them what the word means, without being condescending. They know I don't mean it, it's just the first word that comes to mind, to give an example. But I can't stop being me. I can't stop wanting to learn.).
... I gotta' admit, I feel pretty foolish, as this went completely over my head. Though I saw no signs at the party reading, "Hang those fu*kin Readers!, and Darkies, too!" I guess the whole movement was a veiled uprising against successful blacks and people with library cards. I appreciate the way your massive and well read intellect picked up on that.

Oh. so I guess that statistics goes completely out the window. I don't really care what you say. The obviously overwhelming message that congress got was "hell no". And still, no breaks... no second thoughts... just "pass it for the good of the people... what the hell do they know any way, they just gave us the job of congressman..."
