King of Australia (Terminator)

ZionT is crowned King of the Australian Empire

Civil War threatens to break-out in Australia with a number of rebel groups gaining support and illegal weaponry. A number of foreign powers are monitoring the situation with a view to making an invasion and seizing control amongst any chaos that may occur.

This tournament is a nationality-based terminator tournament and is open to all players with a decent attendance record. Premium is not required, although freemiums be aware that there will be two simultaneous games in round 1 and the finals.

The tournament will feature 8 Australian players and 24 prospective invaders.

When you sign-up, please indicate your nationality and which group you wish to enter in Phase One (Sydney, Cairns, Europe or North America).

Details:
Phase One:
Australian Players – Establishing a Base
Two groups of four Australian players will do battle for control of either Sydney or Cairns. After 2 battles, the 2 players gaining supremacy will progress (players with most terminations).
If players have equal numbers of terminations then finishing positions in the 2 matches will be compared. If players are still equal then a one-match play-off will occur.

Invading Players – Establishing Homeland Control
Three groups of four North American players will do battle for control of their continent. After 2 battles, the 2 players gaining supremacy will progress (players with most terminations).
If players have equal numbers of terminations then finishing positions in the 2 matches will be compared. If players are still equal then a one-match play-off will occur.

Similarly, three groups of four European players will do battle for control of their continent. After 2 battles, the 2 players gaining supremacy will progress (players with most terminations).
If players have equal numbers of terminations then finishing positions in the 2 matches will be compared. If players are still equal then a one-match play-off will occur.

Infiltration Phase:
One group of four Australian players undertake to gain control of Australia’s rail network. This will be 1 match, with the players with most terminations progressing. If players have equal numbers of terminations then finishing positions will be compared.

Similarly, three groups of four Invading players undertake to gain control of Australia’s rail network. This will be 1 match, with the players with most terminations progressing. If players have equal numbers of terminations then finishing positions will be compared.

Take-Over Phase:
Two groups of four players will undertake to gain control of Australia. This will be 1 match, with the 2 players with most terminations progressing. If players have equal numbers of terminations then finishing positions will be compared.

Empire Building Phase (Finals):
To consolidate power and establish enough control to become self-appointed King of Australia, four players will undertake to gain control of Oceania. This will be 2 matches as, once control is established, many of the World’s Super-Powers will inevitably object to the forming of your new empire and send in their naval troops. If players have equal numbers of terminations then a play-off will take-play (with escalating spoils).

Match Options
Spoiler
Matches will take place on the Sydney Metro, Cairns Metro, Europe, North America, Rail Australia, Australia, Oceania and WWII Australia Maps.

Matches will be Terminator (obviously) and Sequential.
Matches will also involve Flat Rate Spoils, Adjacent Reinforcements and Fog of War. The first Phase One match will be escalating (other settings the same).
Play-offs between 2 players will be Standard and Escalating (other settings as above).
Players
Spoiler
There will be 32 players.

Players must have a 97% attendance record, have played a minimum 25 matches, and not have dropped out from one of my tournaments previously! Freemiums welcome, although beware that the tournament starts as soon as we have enough players.

Players will have 24 hours to join their matches from when the joining PM is sent. Failure to do so will result in a reserve being sought (harsh, I know).

Winners of each match should PM the Tournament Organiser with details of the positions and no. of terminations for each player.
Reserves
Spoiler
All reserves will be sent a PM when an opening occurs. The first reserve to respond will gain a place.

For the first round, reserves will be drawn from the reserve list.
After each round play-offs between players knocked-out will be used to determine the top 3 reserves (by a play-off). Players knocked-out will be sent a PM to register interest in the play-off. They will have 24 hours to respond.

After the first round, reserves will be drawn from players succeeding in reserves play-offs. The top 2 reserves will be sent a PM when an opening occurs. The first reserve to respond will gain a place. If no reserve is found within 24 hours then a PM will be sent to the next 2 reserves. This will continue until a reserve is found. If no players are found from the reserves participating in play-offs then reserves will be sought from the original reserve list (again 24-hour response time). If this is unsuccessful then a reserve will be recruited by mass PM (again 24-hour response time). If this is still unsuccessful then the matches in question will take place with one fewer player.
Joining Matches
Spoiler
Players will be informed when they have a match and will have 24 hours to join. If they fail to do so then they will be ejected from the tournament and a reserve will replace them.
Winning Matches
Spoiler
Winners of each match are expected to PM the Tournament Organiser the order in which players finished (1st, 2nd etc.), and no. of terminations for each player.
Build-Up Matches
Spoiler
The position of players after 24 rounds will determine how they progress (or in the finals, the number of terminations achieved at this point will be carried forward to the second match which will then start). If (in the quarter or semi-finals) not enough players have achieved terminations to determine who progresses, the match would continue until two players have achieved terminations (with those two players progressing). The remainder of the game would then be a points-only affair.
Partnerships / Regular opponents
Spoiler
Players must inform the tournament organiser if they have a regular partner or opponent that is also featuring in the tournament. The organizer can then ensure these players do not play together to avoid any potential claims of foul play by other players.

If reports of suspected foul play are made and the players in question have not declared that they are regular partners / opponents then they will be both be ejected from the tournament without question or the need for irrefutable evidence.

Yes, to progress to the next stage, number of terminations count. If players have equal numbers (e.g. 3 players have 1 termination) then finishing positions count.
