Predict the next special contribution medals

Post by sully800 »

This was a thread I meant to start once they started handing these medals out semi-regularly.

I think we had a surprise round last time with Gozarand jonducrou, but it was nice to see some members who are not a part of TeamCC get the award! I think Twill is overdue for the Special Contribution, I thought me might get the award right when he retired.

Also deserving are any current mods (and admins especially), but I think the medals might be awarded for more specific tasks. I expect that eventually most, if not all, members who held a position will get a Special Contribution medal.

Older members who helped shape the site for non moderation tasks:

Jota - the first creative mapmaker, inspired many with his art and XML magic

Tr0y - the original greasemonkey man, created the predecessor to BOB which yeti refined into a masterpiece

AK_iceman - extremely nice guy and talented player, mostly listed here for his dedication to CC - almost got arrested for stealing wi-fi so he could take his turns. How many people have gotten CC into their local newspapers?

I had no idea about that Conquertell script until I saw that he had gotten a medal for it.... I'd never seen anyone talk about it before.... I downloaded it and I LOVE IT. :)

Anyway, I hope Gilligan is a choice soon for his work with the Tourney Hall of Fame. :)

This is a hard question to answer as there is no definition of what it takes to get the medal. Having seen the places others can't see, Twill should be a consideration. I got to work with ChipV a little lately and it looks like he's put a substantial amount of great things into CC.

Fireside Poet should be on any conceptual shortlist. From the cartography realm, oaktown and gimil did terrific jobs for quite a long time as CAs, would be nice to see them get their gold retirement watches.

Add Twill for his work, and that's my list :)

I think the multi hunters should get an award. I'm sure that on some cases, they have to do a lot of investigative work.

 No offense, because I know you do find your share of them...the Hunters work far harder than you think. They bust tons of mutlis behind the scenes and they work their butts off doing it, so you should be a bit more respectful of their hard work!!

I would out my vote for andy. He has been by far the best teamCC member I ever worked with. Never once did he make a major mistake in anything he did. (non that I noticed at least).

Also another dark horse would be old moz976. I never spoke to him once and he left teamCC (I think) around the time I joined. I know he did alot for the site and lack thinks very, very highly of him.
What do you know about map making, bitch?

I know they work hard and there are tools that could be added to make things more automated and easier for them.
