Congratulations to all who have made it through the first round so far. I've been updating the first post with results as they come in. I still haven't had to send out any deciding game threes yet which means theres a good chance at least a few teams who didn't win a game in round one will still make it through as a wild card team. Stretch those games out folks, even if you lose you can advance!

It must have taken you a while to post this, because I changed that on the first page about 18 hours ago. It was simply a clerical error, nothing sinister. Game threes will be sent to the people who need them shortly.

Oh hell, I'm an idiot...I noticed the mistake 18 hours ago, I edited the post, but apparently I didn't save the changes (not the first time I've ever done that) and didn't look at that page again until now.

Witt13 and jdw35 HAVE NOT advanced to the second round as they need to play a deciding game three. tyuche73 and Shazar77 did indeed win a game there as well. Once again, sorry for the mistake and subsequent confusion. Nothing other than a clerical error compounded by a brainfart over here. play on

Necessary game threes have now all been sent to those who need them. At this point nine teams have advanced to round two, five series are going to game three and just two groups are still working on those first two games. I can't say definitively, but it's looking like at least one team that failed to win a single game will nonetheless advance to the next round as the lucky final wild card. At the moment, the luckiest losers would be Joshyboy and Zarg78 with 19 total rounds played, though this is of course subject to change. At any rate if all goes well (and people stop missing turns) we'll get into round two next week!

Standing are updated, with our first official wild card team determined. We're still waiting on one game from the first set to finish and at that point all the other pieces will fall into place. Then I can start sending out games for round two.

Alright, even though there are still a couple of rubber matches ongoing in Cairns we have our field set for round two (games to be sent out shortly). As it turned out, three teams who failed to win a game in round one get to go on to the second round anyway so congrats to Joshyboy and Zarg78 [19 total rounds] Amish Ninja and nola_lifer [18 total rounds] and WPBRJ and Kraphtone [16 total rounds]. Just missing the cut were nashlloyd and jerry1111 [15 total rounds] and a host of teams that made it 14 rounds. Better luck next time guys, thanks for playing! All teams that won at least one game advanced this time as well (see first post for results).
Important New Rule
Effective round two, any team that misses a turn will be ineligible to advance to the next round via the wild card. Of course you will still advance if you win two games in the round, but you can not be a wild card team if you miss any turns. There were entirely too many missed turns in the first round and they really slow the entire tourney down. Thank you for your understanding.

DIBS and waiting4oct don't despair, you guys could still be a wild card team! Haven't had to send any Philippines games out yet, but that's sure to change. Updates and results on page one. We're just a few key games away from being able to flesh out the next round. Depending on the outcome of this Game 5220424, either only teams that won at least one game this round will make it to round three or (if InsomniaRed and MrMoody lose) one two loss team could go through as a wild card. Currently that would be either Gilligan and Johnny Rockets who made it 16 rounds or Bigroo4601 and aspalm who are at 15 rounds but haven't been completely killed off yet.
Everyone else, I'm sorry to report, is officially done. Thanks for playing guys, hope to see you all in my next tournament!

Gah! Also the first two matches between Witt13/jdw35 and gamemaster27/Lindax are still ongoing. It doesn't change who's been eliminated, but both those teams are still in the mix. If they should split these first two, then we could have a situation where a one win team won't make it to the next round (that would also be determined by total round count, with The Philippines game included).

As it turns out, that simplifies things! Now we have 15 of the 16 third round teams determined. The final spot will be decided by this Game 5220424. If InsomniaRed and MrMoody win, they are in. If they lose, then Gilligan and Johnny Rockets sneak through.

OK folks, I'm having North Korea related internet issues among other things so my access is spotty at the moment. So, I'm taking care of a few things in this tourney while I have the chance. First, as InsomniaRed deadbeated in her tourney game I'm just going to go ahead and declare Gilligan and Johnny Rockets the final wild card team and get their games out. Congratulations guys! Second, I've updated the final round two standings, even though a couple of games still aren't technically over yet, it appears they are decided. Finall, I've sent one Dust Bowl game out today, when/if there is a need to send out more please post here and I'll get those to you as soon as I can. There have been some thrilling games so far in this tourney, hope you're all enjoying it as much as I am!
