Terminator of The Ancients (Terminator) (Relentless)
Congratulations to the winner - ZionT
Q: What is a ‘relentless’ tournament?
A: It is for relentless players – you get just 14 hours to take your turn.
- If you take any longer than that more than once (in any single match) then you lose that match (score no points). Simple! The match in question is then re-started with fewer players (unless it is already beyond round 13 – in which case you score no points in that game but the match still counts for the other players). In the first and second rounds, if one player breaches the rule in all games of their group then the other players have qualified for the next stage (in alphabetical order) - and the games are played-out for fun.
It is up to players to report any infractions to the Tournament Organiser.
It is open to all players with a decent attendance record (see below). Freemiums welcome although they will need to have 3 game slots open at all times.
Setting
Your achievements as a bounty hunter have been followed by high ranking officials close to the Galactic President. As a result, you have been invited to undertake a highly classified, and lucrative, mission.
The President himself contacts you on your StellarCom video-link to explain the task: “Now that we have developed, and fully tested, time travel technology we would like you to solve the Earth problem for us.”
You remember reading about the Earth experiment, millions of years of research into the evolution of the human species.
“Earthlings are now developed enough to travel beyond their own star system – and they have unique genetic capabilities as kamikaze warriors. We do not want our adversaries to discover them and their genetic code. Although this is a small risk, the consequences cannot be tolerated. We had considered deleting Earth but, rather than waste this huge research investment we would like you to travel back into earth’s history and delete the indigineous humans. It is the genetic mix of indigineous and colonizing humans which has created the problem we face today.”
“The task will be easy we will send you to times where warfare technology was extremely basic.”
Once the astronomical fee for this mission is disclosed to you, you accept without hesitation.
“Due to the top secret nature of this mission we will send you details by messenger after completion of each stage. Oh, and don’t think you can sell this information to our adversaries, we can easily travel bac to five minutes before contacting you, and delete you! Ha ha!”
The Evolving Storyline ...

You're communicator unit crackles into life.
"Terminator, thank you for your efforts so far ...
Unfortunately, it looks as though there are other indigineous genes which need to be removed from the human gene pool to prevent this species evolving to the point of becoming a threat.
...
We are therefore sending details of further missions and their time-and-space co-ordinates to your computer unit ..."

"Terminator ...
From our calculations, it is in fact the Ancient Egyptian gene pool which, when mixed with colonist genes and other indigineous genes, has resulted in this species evolving to the point of becoming a threat.

Just as you are trying to fix the android replica of your partner, your communicator unit crackles into life.
"Terminator, apologies for the extension to your mission ...
We have further analysed the human gene pool and discovered that it is indeed the result of intellectual evolution that they have evolved to become a threat to our galactic sovereignty.
...
We are therefore sending details of further missions to destroy the original intellectual civilisations. Their time-and-space co-ordinates will be sent to your computer unit ..."

As you are sending a message back into the future to your loved ones, your communicator unit crackles into life.
"Terminator, apologies once again for our previous mis-calculations ...
After ground-breaking research, we have realised the dangerous element in human genetics stems from a set of genes which give humans occassional contact with mystical forces. Such genes stem from some of the most ancient tribes of earth who cultivated and developed their esoteric powers. ...
We are therefore sending details of further missions to destroy the original mystical civilisations. Their time-and-space co-ordinates will be sent to your computer unit."

Your communicator unit crackles into life again.
"Terminator, despite failure to complete those missions succesfully, our new super-computer, Deep Thought, has re-calculated the changes necessary ...
The set of genes which give humans occassional contact with mystical forces originate from Babylonian and African civilisations at the time the indigineous human race first began to venture from their homeland.
We are therefore sending details of further missions to destroy these original civilisations. Their time-and-space co-ordinates will be sent to your computer unit."

Matches will also involve Flat Rate Spoils, Adjacent Reinforcements and Fog of War. Tie-break matches will be escalating (other settings the same).
Spoiler
Players must have a 97% attendance record, have played a minimum 25 matches, and not have dropped out from one of my tournaments previously! Freemiums welcome, although beware that the tournament starts as soon as we have enough players.
Players will have 24 hours to join their matches from when the joining PM is sent. Failure to do so will result in a reserve being sought (harsh, I know).
Winners of each match should PM the Tournament Organiser with details of the positions and no. of terminations for each player.
Spoiler
For the first round, reserves will be drawn from the reserve list.
After each round players knocked-out will be sent a PM if a reserve position occurs. If this is unsuccessful then the matches in question will take place with one fewer player.
For the finals, reserves will not be sought - matches in question will take place with one fewer player.
