Well, if nothing else this season, we can at least beat CSU for the Bronze Boot trophy, unless an upset happens in SDSU and we beat them, then we become Bowl eligible. Wyoming though, doesn't have the best record when it comes to that school, but we shall see this weekend.

I don't know what anyone else thinks, but I'm of the opinion that defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh from Nebraska should be the front-runner at this point. Yes, that's right...I said defensive lineman.

The unfortunate thing is the Heisman tends to be an offensive trophy (a shame really as there have been defensive players in the past who deserved to win it or at least make the final cut). I don't know enough about Suh's actual stats to say if he deserves it.

What you say is true enough, though didn't Hugh Green win it from Pittsburgh (admittedly back a ways)?

I'm not even sure of Suh's stats (though I believe they're pretty incredible). However, he is essentially unblockable...if you've watched even one game, you'll have seen that even the regular double-teams he sees aren't doing the job. It's like me playing against a bunch of 1st-graders. He is also projected to be the top pick in the draft.

Another dominant defensive lineman is Terrence Cody of Alabama who blocked 2 fourth quarter field goal attempts against Tennessee in a game they Bama won 12-10 to remain unbeaten. I don't see either Cody or Suh as Heisman contenders though.

In all the years of Heisman there's been 1 defensive player who's won and I think you got the right name.

Despite what everyone says, Case Keenum should be the Heisman front-runner at this point. Houston has played a relatively quality schedule with a couple of quality opponents and Conference USA may not be super-strong, but they aren't the worst conference in the country either.

He has put up unreal statistics this season, and in my opinion, has out-performed Tebow and McCoy across the board.

Charles Woodson --a Defensive Back/Wide Receiver for Michigan in 1997-- is the only defensive player to ever win the Heisman. Pittsburgh has one winner of this award and that is Tony Dorsett back in 1976.

We should have a thread for the college football team of the decade, though it's probably a bit early for it now, should at least wait to see how the National Title plays out.

Both SDSU and Wyoming have a lot riding on this Saturday, as it is basically whoever wins will be able to be bowl eligible (we will most likely lose to TCU, but UW has a good chance against CSU this year) and take the 5 bowl slot. Also, it seems our recruiting will pay off for next year as we are getting some very talented WRs.

I just watched the halftime show during the South Florida - Rutgers game, and suddenly felt compelled to say, yet again -

ahem

I HATE Lou Holtz. Man can't talk, I don't like what he says, he's a Notre Dame slappy, and should seriously retire, and just go away for good.

LOU HOLTZ IS AN IDIOT!

He just picked both South Carolina over Florida (in the process, admitting that he's never picked against the Gamecocks since he left there) and picked Notre Dame over Pittsburgh. I HATE THAT HOMER IDIOT WHO CAN'T SPEAK.

Well, TCU and Utah play for the conference title today, with TCU the favored win. SDSU and UW play to more or less determine who gets the last bowl slot for the MWC (both are tied in number of wins overall and in conference).

#1 Florida 24 South Carolina 14 Final

The Gamecocks were plenty game for this one as the Gators started a ridiculous number of possessions in SC territory and could not score, but South Carolina couldn't overcome their own mistakes and penalties.

Ok, so I know I'm a bit of a homer on this one...but HOW IN THE WORLD is Tom Osborne's decision to go for two in the 1983 Orange Bowl number 13 on the list of best historical plays? I see no possible reason why that play is not NUMBER ONE. Yes, I am serious.

Anyone who thinks TCU can't compete with a Big 12 or SEC team is delusional after the performance they laid on Utah this evening. The Horned Frogs deserve a shot at that title game, hands down.

Deserves? definitely if Texas or Alabama and Florida have a loss at the end of the season. Will that happen? Probably not.

That was a hell of a game for TCU, and that was just from the recaps, they completely dominated Utah who is another Top 20 Team. The way TCU is playing, they really ought to get a chance at the NC.

And the Cowboys, 24 unanswered points in the 4th quarter, with the game winning points done by Special Force's Ian Watts. A blocked FG by John Fletcher. And a fumble made by the Aztecs recovered by the Wyoming Special Forces after making the return kick. They truly kicked it into high gear and won it, with their 5 win for 30 or more points. DC really has turned this team around, especially by winning at SDSU for the first time since 1995.

Also, during an interview with TCU's head coach (name escapes me), he isn't going to underestimate the Cowboys next week, as this game will give us a HUGE boost in confidence. Plus, the weather here has been blizzard conditions last few days.

Florida's offense isn't the same without their OC from last year and their big playmaker in Harvin. There's a freshman who should be good enough to fill Harvin's shoes next year (He has the talent this year but I don't think he's had enough experience yet) but by then they lose Tebow, Spikes and I believe a good percentage of their offensive line.

Right now Alabama is trying to reestablish themselves as the team to beat in the SEC after a shaky game against Tennessee a few weeks ago and Texas is trying to prove that their slow start to the season was just a fluke and that they want to be favored in the NC. Meanwhile TCU is not only playing BCS buster but doing their best to try and become NC buster and Georgia Tech is on pace for a trip to the orange bowl.

Tennessee played Alabama and Florida on their turf and gave them tough games only to get blown out by Mississippi, who faltered badly against both the SEC leaders. Alabama definitely looks like the team to beat in the conference and Florida will get their chance.
