dice at start up and neutrals

Is there some change to the random or start of the dice depending on the drop? I was told that i could not win because my drop would not allow me to take a neutral and get a bonus. I thought that random was random and neutrals don't get any special dice or protection. Is that right or do i need to modify the way I play in attacking neutrals?

nope random is random there are no special neutrals that roll extra good its all just luck.
