I've had this come up in a couple of my tournaments. I simply tell the player that has someone on their ignore list that to participate in the tournament they have to be willing to take the person off of the ignore list for the duration of the tournament, or until they will no longer have to play them in the tournament.
I haven't had any problems with this approach, but I can see the difficultly it causes when dealing with the Battle Royale.

That's a very nice approach.
I've never had anyone pull out of a tournament because of it and it has happened at least a dozen times. Seems like a pretty easy way to do it in my book.
I believe I may have been the cause of this thread. Although, a nameless person had threatened to do such a thing (put 1000s of people on his ignore list).
I did not realize that I had made anyone's ignore list. But, there was a game on Pearl Harbor where I was not the most gracious person [not to mention I posted about what I thought to be bug]. This is why firth4eva added me to his ignore list. I PM'd him and he politely responded with his reasoning.
As long as I actually did something to offend someone, they have the right to ignore. If that costs me the Battle Royale - so be it. Yet another reason to be polite to other people around the site.
The problem with this is the potential for abuse [the idea mentioned above]. Realistically, no one should have an ignore list greater than 50 people.
...
Although, it might be better for tournaments/Battle Royales if the ignore threshold went up from 1 (min 20.0% of players already in the game) to whatever 10% of the max players in a tournament (2 ignores to be excluded from 16+ player tournament) or 5% of those already in the Battle Royale (max 6 for 112)
Although thre has been a workaround, foes no longer apply to tournament games. Hope this makes running & participating in tournaments a little bit smoother

lackattack wrote:Since a Battle Royale is a tournament and the foe list no longer applies to tournaments, this suggestion can be considered implemented.

I prefer the option of removing myself or opting out of the tournament rather than be forced to play a game with one of the very few ppl i've foed.
