No, a kicker you actually need to feel sorry for is UNMs.

I dunno muy... ECU had the ball on the Arkansas 22 yard line and he missed a FG on the final play
sending the game into overtime. In the OT, ECU was inside the 20, he missed again and Arkansas didn't.
The Razorbacks never led in this game until the FG that ended the OT. The Pirates have the edge on every
stat in the game but two, field goal percentage and of course the most important one... final score.

Considering that most of the kicks the UNM kicker missed could have been the difference between winning (even beating BYU was a possiblity, as close as it was) several of their games and ending up as they did (1-9 in conference 1-12 overall, beating only CSU).

Who are you guys choosing for the Fiesta Bowl?

TCU wins and the MWC sweeps their bowl games. The WAC has shown that they really aren't that good this year and the MWC shows that they re as good if not better than most of these BCS conferences they go up against.

BSU has shown to be the only WAC team with at least an average defense, though how a Top 10 team let Ryan Matthews get over 240yds on them, and lowly Wyoming only 144, beats the hell out of me.

And just think, if the MWC becomes AQ in the next xouple of years (more like when, unless they want to get sued), think of how hard we will be rolling the Big 12, SEC, etc then. We already are getting great recruits, but when we become AQ the hard way, like we have, by gaining respect, I wouldn't be surprised if we ended up fighting for the Championship on a nearly annual basis (other factors not pending though).

Yup BYU 24 New Mexico 19 and the Lobos outplayed them. With a +2 on turnovers and home field advantage might have pulled off the upset except for their 3 missed field goals in that game.
The Cougar field goal (1/1) provided the winning margin.

It was a great game and good win for the Red Raiders and the decisions made on that last drive were big ones. Choosing to go for it on 4th and 4 when they were up 3 and in field goal range was huge. Knowing a touchdown could still beat 'em they dialed up a big play to sustain the drive and keep control of the game. I lost count of how many lead changes occurred in that see-saw second half, but I know both teams had their chances to stretch the lead at some point and couldn't get it done.

strike wolf... I've been really impressed with Arkansas all year. Ryan Mallett is a terrific quarterback and to tell you the truth, I was surprised that ECU was able to hang with them at all. The Razorbacks are a lot like Georgia this year in that they have played some amazing football but been inconsistent in maintaining that level of play in all their games. The Pirates generated the kind of game they needed with 38 minutes of possession, holding Arkansas to 81 rushing yards --including three 4th down stops-- while outgaining them by 110 yards in total offense... including a 99 yard drive in the second quarter for the first TD of the game. The two interceptions of Patrick Pinkney --one returned 37 yards for a TD-- resulting in 10 points, coupled with Mallet's 41 yard TD toss right after ECU's second TD drive in the third quarter were back breakers, but missing 4 of 5 field goal attempts was the nail in the coffin. Ben Hartman kicked a 33 yarder in the second quarter before missing his next four attempts, including one on the final play of regulation to send it into overtime
and that is a tough way to lose.

I know you think that Arkansas is a great program. You've said so before. your comment however can be misconstrued as to what you meant.

And even if Stoops helped Saban is was as someone familiar with the way that Texas plays who can reveal strengths and weaknesses. it ws a good move by Alabama to gain an advantage over an opponent they aren't really familiar with. It also was probably not so much Stoops telling Saban what he should do as much as it was Saban learning from Stoops more about Texas' strengths and weaknesses, things you can't pick up just by watching game film.

Two Bowl Games remain and my picks are...

Boise State 17 TCU 10 - Solid defense and offense from the Frogs.
Both defenses came up big, but the Frogs offense choked when they had opportunities
to make plays and the Broncos made the most (and more) of their chances.

Iowa 24 Georgia Tech 14 - A tough choice, the offensive stats favor Georgia Tech,
but I'll go with the Hawkeyes' defense getting it done. and they did!

Central Michigan 44Troy State 41 2OT - should feature both offenses putting up points,
but I'm thinking the Sun Belt Champs will manage enough defense to prevail. 4th Quarter,
Troy drives 85 yards to take a 13 point lead only to surrender a TD return on the kickoff.
MSU scores a TD +2 conversion for a 3 point lead at 1:14, a 46 yd Troy FG with 31 secs left
sends it to overtime. In the second OT CMU blocks the Troy FG attempt or the win.
1000+ yards of total offense in this one... but CMU's defense stepped up to win it.

Texas - I expect this one to be tight, so Hook 'em Horns!
Both of these teams are excellent on both sides of the ball, but if it stays close
I expect McCoy (and Shipley) to will them to this win.

I think TCU may be more then a little solid. Offense, Defense, and Special Teams all ranked in the top 10.

Iowa - A tough choice, the offensive stats favor Georgia Tech,
but I'll go with the Hawkeyes' defense getting it done.
Troy State - Because they've played tough against the big boys of the SEC.
Texas - I expect this one to be tight, so Hook 'em Horns!
Both of these teams are excellent on both sides of the ball, but if it stays close
I expect Colt McCoy to will them to the win.

I think this depends on if they start Stanzi or Vendenburg for the offense. Vandenburg moves the ball better, has better fundamentals. Stanzi shows that he is a comeback player, bringing them back in the fourth quarter so many times. If I were Kirk Ferentz, I would start Vandenburg for the first half, bring Stanzi in at halftime. If the defense does thier job it could create for diverse offensive looks to throw Ga. Tech off of their defensive game plan.

and also tomorrow night's Orange Bowl 8pm ET
The BCS National Championship Thursday night is on ABC 8pm ET
So just find a convenient television or hit a local pub or have a long dinner out?

The GMAC Bowl --7pm ET Wednesday-- is the only ESPN/360 game remaining.

I'm impressed by the speed of both these teams as the defenses
are bending but not breaking.

4th and 9 and BSU pulls off a beauty of a fake punt to convert
and extend the drive... which results in a Bronco touchdown.

Andy Dalton threw 4 interceptions all year gets picked 3 times tonight
and on their second to last possession a TCU wide out dropped a long
pass at the goal line. Great game, a lot like a heavy weight fight...
and I'd loved to have seen it go to overtime.

TCU upset BSU last year and the Broncos just returned the favor.
