I don't get david's comments....was he trying to teach you the map and you tricked him?

My understanding from a C&A thread a few months ago is that David invites low ranks to games on tricky maps with the promise of teaching them how to play the map after the game. It looks like it back-fired in this case. Here's the thread if you're interested:

Come on guys - we all know he's good!

Good at FARMING any low rank (but no longer ?'s) on maps they have never played before, freestyle and in fog.
Good at making all those who play him, take their turns BEFORE he does - often not even deploying until they have finished their turn.
Good at getting players to join his games without them knowing which map he has set up, and that they are freestyle and fog - is he using 'autojoin'? .. most of his opponents seem surprised by their comments in game chat.
Good at complaining if they hesitate a couple of minutes - but if he hesitates, it's because he always has:- computer problems, kids at home, a telephone call, or sometimes somebody at the door. And one of these seems to occur in every game!
Good at NEVER playing a rematch on a map that anyone requests, on THEIR settings
Good at REFUSING to play SEQUENTIAL 1v1 because that gives the first player too big an advantage, of course HE only has a 50:50 chance of going first... nothing like good enough odds to ensure his win and therefore the preservation of his precious points! .. and his settings of freestyle and FOG on a NEW MAP doesn't give HIM too big an advantage???
Good at posting sarcastic comments to KA in his games after he was warned.

Basically - he's Good at just being a big PIT*

Hey, don't lump me in with this guy. I'm not a farmer, don't maliciously invite random people to games and was willing to play anyone on any map. I did, however, enjoy freestyle singles before and still do on occasion. The fact that the 5 games I played with you were on *random* maps, and certainly resulted in games where I'd lose huge points, should help you realize that. By the way, if I'm a prized win for you, its nice you feel good about it but you may want to set your sights a little higher.

After taking your opinions about this case, and evaluating this further with the other C&A moderators and admins, we have come to a decision that David Hoekstra, as far as inviting and playing low ranked players, is not in violation of our current rules. What he may be guilty of is poor play, shady act, fishy, malicious play, etc. but regarding our farming rule, it clearly refers to new recruits and not low ranked players:

viewtopic.php?f=1&t=73745

As for the possibility that this falls under our Unwritten Rules, as what I have stated above, David Hoekstra's 'tactics', if I may call it, is more like an example of poor play, be it spiteful or disgusting even for some, but it is not against the farming rule or abusive to the game.

One way or the other, everyone will have a chance to play on a map they are not familiar with.

Perhaps you can compare this with people who have benefited with the "freestyle double-turn". It was not meant to be like that and should not but it was there and it was up to you if you wanted to make use of it to put you in an advantage in order to win games even if it was not in the "spirit" of playing freestyle games.

If you wish to suggest a precedent regarding low ranked players or amend our current conditions about the farming rule, feel free to make a suggestion in our Suggestions & Bug Reports Forum at:

Hahaha, you really want to turn this into something bigger than what it is, eh Johnny boy?
I wasn't accusing him of farming, but I know how David is and think he's a good guy. This was just a little bit of good clean fun. Now quit revving your engines and lean back for the ride.

his last victory

Game 6394242

2010-02-02 20:25:07 - David Hoekstra: you started off the first few turns WELL

2010-02-02 20:09:46 - Incrementing game to round 2
2010-02-02 20:10:56 - Bobby14 bombarded Ziethen 05 from Imperial Guard 04 and annihilated neutral player's troops
2010-02-02 20:11:11 - Bobby14 bombarded Uxbridge 05 from Imperial Guard 04 and annihilated neutral player's troops

2010-02-02 20:14:50 - David Hoekstra received 2 troops for holding Napoleon
2010-02-02 20:14:50 - David Hoekstra received 2 troops for holding Wellington
2010-02-02 20:14:50 - David Hoekstra received 3 troops for holding Any Three French Commanders
2010-02-02 20:14:50 - David Hoekstra received 3 troops for holding Any Three Allies Commanders
2010-02-02 20:14:50 - David Hoekstra received 12 troops for 36 regions

could round 2 been played any worse for Bobby? Meanwhile David collects on his bonuses. He coaches them with inaccurate information and than challenges them for a "rematch".
