SO HEY, remember way back in the days of yore when i suggested that attacks on ACORN are motivated by an undercurrent of racial animus?

well it turns out that in addition to being a criminal, a liar, and an all-around piece of shit, james o'keefe is also a white supremacist

so, uh

If you are going to bring up some dubious past associations this man had. I hope you weren't one of those who defended Obama's association with Bill Ayers. :?

And... the Sultan Cycle continues.

I would elaborate as to what the Sultan Cycle is exactly, but then MeDeFe would unofficially warn me for poking the proverbial bear (again).

Totally.
You know, you don't really need to go around telling us that GT is smarter than you. That's better to just leave unspoken.

How long did it take you to write all those "blahs?" You surely could have spent some of that time looking in the dictionary.
...and you can vary it a bit if you like - here's what a thesaurus offers.
Noun 1. blahblah - pompous or pretentious talk or writing
bombast, claptrap, fustian, rant
grandiloquence, grandiosity, magniloquence, ornateness, rhetoric - high-flown style; excessive use of verbal ornamentation; "the grandiosity of his prose"; "an excessive ornateness of language"

Thanks for coming to my defense joneser. That pretty well describes the GT post I was mocking.

seriously though, the obama/ayers thing has been demonstrated as a total crock by a number of reputable sources.

on the other hand, this o'keefe guy helped organize an avowedly racist event and spent most of his college years complaining about niggers (just to clarify, he used this actual wording). his best friend and closest collaborator was convicted of a hate crime. do you really want to jump up to defend the "well maaaaaaaaybe he's not racist, he just made bad choices" play rockfist made

Look, I don't care who President Obama associated with unless it affects his policy decisions. Because I also think everyone should be like me and not care who anyone associates with so long as they don't affect that person's decisions, I find it hypocritical for one to defend President Obama for his past associations and attack anyone else for their own past associations.

That being said, I'm not the guy to defend James O'Keefe.

i've already said the obama/ayers thing is a crock. he has no association with that man. that is my point. obama is about as connected to ayers as he is to kevin bacon, while on the other hand james o'keefe has apparently spent most of his adult life decorating convention halls for white supremacists and bitching about the minorities. i'm not even attacking his associations so much as a clear pattern of action that indicates his own twisted beliefs

Well yeah, you're right.

I haven't heard enough non-Fox, non-conservative talk regarding Ayers and the president to make a determination as to whether they were actually associated. However, I do know that the president went to a church run by a racist pastor; I don't think it makes the president racist (which is a ridiculous assertion). I do think it illustrates how people can associate with others and there should be some sort of response to that. In other words, the president should have come out and said something along the lines of, "What my pastor said was wrong." I'm not sure if he did, because, like I said, I only care about these things to the extent it helps me call out hypocrits (not you, just in general).

He said he thought it was wrong, I believe.

But that's not the point. This isn't a association, this is the dude actually saying these things himself. It's like Obama making a speech at his pastor's church full of racism.

Note: It may not be all true, and considering this is a Salon-article they probably exaggerate, but this is a far cry from going to a church with a racist pastor.

The problem I have is that its so difficult for anyone Obama, O'Keefe, Clinton, Bush, Thomas, pick anyone you like, to prove they didn't say these things if in fact they did not. If he said it, its wrong.

I think there are people on either side right or left willing to make shit up to destroy people they disagree with.

I watched Olbermann's rant about Scott Brown the other day and it was horrid. I mean, how can you disprove anything he said? Unless you have Scott Brown's entire life on video, you can't.

If you are going to condemn people for being racist, which I believe you should, then you have to condemn people who raise false accusations of being racist as well.
