The original first post (I will also use it to updated the score and reserve list):

Ok, this tournament is based on a made up trip. Players will travel from Cambodia to Ireland... Overland! Your trip starts in Cambodia. You must then travel through China, Up to the Trans-Siberian Railroad in Russia, across the railroad to Europe. Then you must back-pack through Europe.
You then sail across the English Channel to Great Britain, travel across England and Wales, and cross the Irish Sea to Ireland, your final destination.
I know that the start and finishing destinations are random, thats why its called Random Travels.
There will be 30 players and 6 rounds. Each round will be played on different maps and different settings.
All games will be standard, and sequential, and the rest of the settings depend on the map.
There will be five 6-player games each round, with the winner getting 6 points, second getting 5 points, etc.
The winner of the tourney will be the player at the end of round 6 who has the most points.
In case of a tie, the players will play on the Ireland game map, with the same settings as Round 6.


Important!
Premiums as well as freemiums are welcome.
There will be 5 reserves.
You will have 48 hours to join your game.
If you do not join in the allotted time, you will be replaced by a reserve.
Please do not join this tournament if you plan on traveling or being away from your computer.
There is no premium prize, sorry
Please do not be rude, If a player is extremely rude, I reserve the right to oust him/her.

Not decided yet how to handle the score of already played games. As reserve you will take over at least the score of the person who you replace. I will read the original thread to check for special rules for reserves and take a decision after that.

I have just finished the invites for round 5.
Please join as soon as possible.
Let me know if you need more then standard time, I prefer to finish it with the people who are in the tournament.
There is only one remaining (old) reserve and one new reserve, so not joining is hardly an option.

Looking to the number of reserves already used, it unfortunately seems likely that I will need you as reserve, but wait and see.

So far this year all people stayed in their games.
There are some movements, but it is taking many turns.
Three active games: the active round 4 game of this tournament is at its 133th turn. The active round 5 games are at 38th resp 54th turn
I propose to start round 6 when all games are at turn 50 or higher, just toshorten the waiting time for the people currently not in a game At that moment they already had to wait for over a month

Basically that is the way this tournament was set up You can still try to win your game
To my opinion I shouldn't change too much in the original setup at rescuing this tournament
I already added the rule that the maximum number of turns in a game will be limited to 1000

Yes, I noticed
I was in that game as well and was just one short for taking red out
Anyway red will not win the tournament, but I don't have to change any rule for that

Me taking over a last place (as an extra reserve) will end at the last place in this tournament of the active players

I will update the score in one of the next days. The system the original organizer used is clearly not a system that I like
But to my opinion that is simply a consequence of rescuing

Ok we make good progress with this tournament now

Only one active game left: Game 6014026
For the three active players I did put in a score of 4 (that will be the minimum score they will get for that game).

But also when they will get a score of 6 (the max-score) still their total score will stay below 29
In the end overlander will be the only person with a total score of 29 and nobody will be higher

As long as that last game continues (or didn't reach turn 1000) the tournament is not finished
That should give everybody enough time to check their own score and if needed I still can make correction
When there will come no correction request, overlander will be annouched as winner after Game 6014026 is finished or reach turn 1000.

well i still don't get why you gave me spot that had no chance at the medal you made my two games that i won point less because after 4 rounds i got last two times and 3rd to last and no 1st 2nd or 3rd so i only had 13 points after round 4 outlander have two or three times that nuch so i had no chance at winning

I am happy now that I didn't quote your earlier two posts

Basically the answer is still the same. The way I managed with reserves is in line with the original organizer and not completely my style. I was hoping that reserves would also simply like to play a good game. Furthermore several reserves were able to win the tournament, it only became less likely (make sure you eliminate the others in the correct order and hope the same happens in other games)
Not all reserves were able to win the tournament. I also joined as reserve at an impossible place and although I didn't to bad I still became last

Also from my site I didn't like rescuing a tournament. Therefore no risk that I will follow reserve styles of others in the future
