That isisn't realy my point though, I don't doubt there are more conservatives than liberals in the US what i meant to say with my post is that simply ingoring opposing views doese nothing contructive there is usualy something to most any political argument or it would have no followers. Ingoring opposing views robs you of insights that would not occur to you otherwise due to ideology or habits of thought, this goese for any political viewpoint. The ability to draw from even your political opponents is in my opinion one of the greatest strengths of democracy.

How is obedience to authority in the classroom different than obedience to authority in the workplace? Besides the fact that disobedience is much more harshly punished in the real world? Unless you're going to tell me that work makes us into statists.

I choose whether I want to stay in that job or not. If the rules or managers are so bad, I am free to move on. Most children are not free to change schools if they do not like the rules.

Following the rules in the corporate world makes us corporatists and that is not a term I use favorably. This whole financial crisis has added a shit tonne of new rules that I have to follow and a shit tonne of new people to ask us to fill out new reports. I am tiring of the medium to large size corporate world. Some of the new regulations make sense, but a lot are just dumb. I am thinking of starting my own business or taking over a small business rather than deal with the new regulations.
