Fight for your real country in the New World!

Post by Rigunito »

Have you ever been tired of tons of "elves", "goblins" and other fantasy characters in almost every MMOG? Have you ever been tired of n-GB MMOG client software downloads? Have you ever been tired of the commercialization of "Second Life"? Have you ever been dreaming of governing your real world country in some massive e-world? If the answer is "Yes", then you definitely should check the eRepublik – the fastest growing web based MMOSSG today .. which is completely FOR FREE.

What is eRepublik? – It is a web based economical and political strategy game with strong characteristics of social networking, where tens of thousands of people fight for their real world countries (by now there are represented 60 of real world countries, but there will be more), make business companies, political careers and a lot more in the "New World" of eRepublik. There are a lot of things you can do in eRepublik – work in companies, earning a salary, based on your skills; make companies by yourself; trade with the currencies, goods and resources; participate in the wars between the countries, making military career; make your own newspapers (the best of whom are red by thousands of eRepublik citizens); join a political party or form a new one. You can even be elected (by other eRepublik citizens of your country) in to the parliament or the seat of the president, thus shaping the future of your country in the New World of eRepublik.

Why the eRepublik is special in between other MMOGs?

First – it is an intellectual game, where you can become successful only by making your brains work, not repeating some algorithmic actions. In the economics and politics of eRepublik are working the same principles which are working also in the real world. Thus eRepublik can become a quite good training place for persons who are dreaming of career in economics and/or politics of the real world.

Second – to play this game you don't need to download weighty installation files or to buy expensive game packs. eRepublik is completely for free (except some extras you really won't need in the game) and it is played in your internet browser. Thus it is more attractive also to people who are not so used to computer gaming.

Third – you can get successful in eRepublik without playing it for countless hours every day – it is enough to devote some 15 minutes in a day for the game, because the basic actions of the game you can carry out only once in a game-day, which is the same as real world day. Of course – if you want to read the in-game magazines and participate in to the politics, you will need to devote a lot more time.

Fourth – the geography of eRepublik is the same as in the real world, where every country has its regions with resources distributed roughly as in the real world. Since there are wars between countries and their alliances the belonging of these regions may change. Some countries even can be wiped out from the map for some time, but there is always the possibility for a "resistance war" and thus most of the countries wiped out return to the map quite quickly.

A few tips for beginners

The most difficult and possibly boring part of the game will be the first week until the player reaches level 6. If this period, when there are only limited things you can do, is lasted out with patience (for faster growth in this starting period just follow the instructions of Plato) the player can start to live the real eRepublik life with many interesting options to do.

I can also give the tip to register into the game not in its front page, but through an invitation, because in that case when you will reach the level 6 you and the inviter will both get a 5 gold bonus. To get the idea, how much it is, I can tell that for this sum you can buy the in-game food for a year (you must "eat" one food unit per day to maintain your health in the game), but for 20 gold you can make a new business company.

If you want to use my invitation, then you should register trough this link:

http://www.erepublik.com/en/referrer/T-Rex.LV

(If the game server doesn't accept any parameter in the first time and thus the page has been reloaded, make sure the link stays the same, otherwise it can happen that the game server understands your registration as the usual one not one that is made through an invitation.)

Let's meet in the New World of eRepublik! Make your e-country stronger than it would be without you!

I like eRepublik a lot. It's definitely not for everyone (basically you just click and watch numbers go up once a day) but it can be very entertaining if you get past the first week and start being able to do things.

I think I've heard of this game somewhere else before. But for the life of me I can't remember where!
