I have just been posting my thoughts about the 3k games played. Honestly, I don't care that much because I don't plan on being considered for the HoF, so It won't matter if I've played 3k or 300k. Those supporting it have made good arguments. GK basically stated my position accept my argument was that the games played didn't need to be a written rule if exceptions are going to be made. Either way, I've enjoyed the lively debate that hasn't broken down into flaming (like it does in off-topics).

Thank you everyone from the commitee who wrote in this thread after i asked for your voices. It's very appricated. My assumption about who came up with the 3000 game requierment was wrong, which was good to hear.

I still think though that having to play a certain amount of games is wrong. Someone mentioned that it would be to easy to get into the HoF because of it. But if you are just more picky with who you select, then it won't matter. The only thing that will change is that you have more players to pick from. That doesn't mean that more players needs to get in.

Getting into the HoF should be really hard. But having a game requierment isn't the way to go at it. I'm sure there are a small amount of players who have all the quality of getting into the HoF, or at least be very close to get in, but if you have such a requierment seems quite stupid then in my mind. You should keep the 3-year membership, since this is a very good thing and it decreases the players to consider significantly.

It would be very intresting to see how many players accually have been active for 3 years and have 3000 games played. I doubt it would be many at all. Out of those there are even less players who would be considerd good enough to get such a prestigious (Booya! First time i used that word, even spelled it correctly!) award.

It feels like i say the same things over and over again, but that have not really been the point. I've just tried to explain it in diffrent ways of looking at it. Just saying this incase the thought came to mind.

Oh, almost forgot. Why have a deadline on public thoughts? Isn't it good to keep them coming? As you someone, or more, mentioned, what i've said have caused more discussion and from that some changes have come. Wouldn't it be good then if more public thoughts would come in the future which may give something useful?

But of course, the main discussions should be in the HoF Commitee usergroup forum. Ending the input from those outside of that group feels rather.. strange. (I hope i haven't missed an expaination of it somewhere)

Ever take notice why almost no player over 2500 creates public 1 vs 1's ? Two days ago I counted 270 players over 2500 and not one game created by them in public to play 1 vs 1.

I was one of those few, hence i'm not over 2500 anymore xD. All dice of course, lol

The deadline is so that there is a point in time that the Hall of Fame is actually created. There will never be a time that everyone will be happy with that we have come up with, so it is just to make sure it happens.

However if you are suggesting that after it finally gets finalized that we keep a discussion thread open on it for changes forever even after some have been inducted, then i guess i haven't thought about that. If that is what you are talking about then i guess we should start talking about plans for that.

yes, i agree. As for everyone else, keep the thoughts/ideas coming. The more thoughts we have to consider to help make fair votes/choices the better the end product will be.

Its this attention to create >Hall of fame related on player scores,or to create Hall of fame related on all aspect in CC. Many players who work in all aspect in CC (maps,Tournament,Moderators,Clans),they dont have to much time to play a bunch of games,and hes score its not so briliant. I think that for Hall of Fame,score its in last place,and only what you can apply its time in CC to be limit. Many people who can be in Hall of fame dont have 3000 games.
Example-Cairnswk have over 20 maps in CC,and he dedicate hes time in Conquer Club not in playing games but to creating maps, and hes score are belove yours criteriums. If i need to decide,then Cairnswk deserve to be on Hall Of Fame.

569 players with 3,000 games completed. As I get time I will bold the players over 3 active years. ( 1- 43 completed )

Its this attention to create >Hall of fame related on player scores,or to create Hall of fame related on all aspect in CC. Many players who work in all aspect in CC (maps,Tournament,Moderators,Clans),they dont have to much time to play a bunch of games,and hes score its not so briliant. I think that for Hall of Fame,score its in last place,and only what you can apply its time in CC to be limit. Many people who can be in Hall of fame dont have 3000 games.
Example-Cairnswk have over 20 maps in CC,and he dedicate hes time in Conquer Club not in playing games but to creating maps, and hes score are belove yours criteriums. If i need to decide,then Cairnswk deserve to be on Hall Of Fame.

Also, another thing to ponder, is the CC site is not ending tomorrow, many players will continue to play the rest of the year of 2010 and more will meet the game minimum, many others will play into the year 2011 and again, many more will become eligible then. If the CC site was closing today, then , sure , it would only be fair to re-look at the games minimum requirement, but, it is not and something all should be working towards over time if this is something important to them. However, like reptile said, we will discuss this and go from there.

I already started a post about players ( for gaming ) that have 3 years and 3,000 games played. We should begin a post with player ( non-gaming ) that have helped the site and have 3 years. And I mean helped by more than just being a mod.

this is why we have to vote on the players willing to be on the nominations and selections committee and trust their decisions with the hopes they will take all these things into account before voting on induction. We would want the most competent and experienced players on CC to vote on these matters. Not sure when JP will announce who they are and when the public can vote, I thought he said in early April, but, I am not sure?

Actually, if you maprank Blitz, you will see the quite incredible breadth of the maps he has played on. Yes I have done this, naturally, as it is something of a given (IMHO) that the benchmark he sets in such things is very high. He doesn't get a gold medal on crossmaps for nothing. Seriously, Blitz and I may have our differences on many issues, but fair is fair he has taken the pain of losing points whilst learning the maps he has played on, then mastered them and got those points back.

I agree, it is very few for the first ballot. But if we're looking at entering 10 or fewer players each selection period (something being discussed by the Criteria Committee at the moment), then it makes it much easier on the Selections Committee to simply pick 10 from the top 25 than 10 from the top 100, or top 1000.

100% correct Fc, thx for that, mostly I have done this to improve and be diversified on all maps which tends to help in clan challenges, leagues, cups, etc. I could not add all the clan games because there is no way of knowing exactly how many unless I want to count every single game and go thru one by one, not going to do that though, takes too long.
