Why is Arkansas pronounced Arkansaw but Kansas isn't pronounced Kansaw?

In Kansas they pronounce alot of things like arkansas city
Our Kansas City.. So I'd assume that arkansas is Our Kansas in kansas.

I think what RK means is is most people pronounce Arkansas Arkansaw, but in Kansas they say Are-Kansas

The State Arkansas is Arkansaw even if you live in kansas, however the the river is the Are- kansas river.
