We should be able to initiate a live chat session from a person's wall or from our friends list. The current method is to send a pm and ask the person to join in live chat. It is a pain to have to send a private message to invite a friend who is online to a chat. Why not have the option to open up a chat?
Specifics/Details:
Go to your control panel. Look at your list of friends who are online. How do you contact them? Private message? Wall? Why not chat?
There could be a "Live Chat" link on the wall under the "Send a private message" link and it could be bolded if the person is online.
How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:
I think it would make real-time gaming more accessible.
It will save the hassle of trying to set up a chat while playing 35 odd game turns.

This is available. It's called Live Chat and it is located under Game Finder and above Inbox on the left hand menu. If you and your friend go onto live chat you can have a private conversation.

If you are using IE, all you have to do is click the Compatibility Button to fix it. It should look like a torn piece of paper near your address bar. If you are timing out a lot, this isn't CC's fault. It's your connection

Live chat has been outdated forever. What CC needs is a facebook type friends list and chat system. It would be a great update rather than sending PM's back and forth all the time to people...

I agree here.

I use Firefox, and something IS wrong with this chat, as it's the only thing that I do get disconnected from.
Also, the chat is very outdated, as bruces already said.
