[Forum] Ability to hide medals on forum

Postby MichelSableheart on Thu Aug 19, 2010 5:49 am

Concise description:
  • Give users the ability to turn the display of medals of.

Specifics/Details:
  • Currently, in the user control panel, under board preferences, edit display options, users are able to turn of the display of avatars and signatures. With this suggestion, users would be able to turn of the display of medals in the same way.

How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:
  • Short posts won't be unnecessary lengthened, benefiting users with small screens.
  • Because less images will have to be loaded or retrieved from cache, site performance for users on extremely slow computers would improve.
  • Users who prefer plain text and have turned of signatures and avatars won't be bothered by unnecessary pictures.
  • Inspired by this question in the Q&A forum.

maybe they could just edit the colapse feature in the forum think it is part of bob so you can collapse all posts in the thread instead of just 1 at a time.

I'd rather they had a cyber pawn shop where I could trade a medal for a speed game, a single time invite or something. Your idea's pretty good too though.

I will look into the phpBB modification that would have to be done for the UCP setting. I'm sure yeti (or whoever is responsible for BOB now) can comment on the possibility of having BOB collapse by default.

Look Michael, just because you're painfully jealous of the tremendous number of medals I've won...you really don't have to go to these lengths. Just ask me...I'll give you a couple of the less shiny ones.

(Good suggestion.)
