After nearly exactly 4 years, Its time to go. Ive logged in every single day save none and thats just too much. 10-10-10 will be the first day I dont, and after that, I need a serious and real break.

I have loved my time here, learned a lot, met a lot of great and interesting people, and had an enormous amount of fun. It has been great watching the site grow into what it is, and amazing at how much work everyone put into it to get it there. I have no doubt it will be continued.

Thanks to all, good bye to all, and a sincere apology to any that deserve one for lets just say...some fun in the forums. :D

I cant possibly name one person without naming them all, but I can thank The THOTA boys for an especially good run, and a great time. I do hope you will survive my absence. :D Im surprised you survived my presence to be honest.

Things Id like to see on CC in the future:

Little more professionalism from mods. However, most are great, and all have improved, and I have no doubt the cream will rise to the top, as it has so persistently from the beginning. Just dont forget there's always room for improvement.

Protect the newest players from those really low ratings. I still think its the most overlooked problem on CC. Because of low number of games, one bad rating gives new players a most horrible rating, that they probably dont deserve. Clearly isnt going to inspire them to stick around, but beyond that, Its just not fair.

After 3 years, you still don't know where the "Dice are rigged" threads are supposed to go?

This is not a dice are rigged thread. This is an "Im leaving thread". And the reason isnt the dice, but more the official reaction to discussion of it, which of course wasnt a discussion, but a flaming of any by mods that were mentioning their perception of the change which was announced. But then Professionalism has never been all that important to you has it?

From your official strategy guide:
baldadonis wrote:The Arctic map has 48 territories with 8 bonus regions. This makes it a good size for 3,4,6, and 8 player games (no neutrals, good territory split) and gives a decent 2 player game (16 territories, small bonuses centralized). All team games are recommended, as well as either flat rate or escalating multiplayer games. There's a polar bear in the corner of the map, capture it to win the game! (That's a joke, this map doesn't stoop to objective-based gameplay).

Nothing like an official snipe on many maps that people worked hard on, and enjoy playing.

Ill miss you most of all.

Exact reason why this site will never see money from me again Fitz; there is no "leaving". I took months off and like most others, you will be back and dabble in no more than 4 games at a time on a "freemium" status. Many feel your frustration, including me. Good Luck!

Well, Im here for a while anyways. Im not about to leave players hanging simply because of something like this. But if CC is going to officially say "f*ck this, we dont even care what you think because you are too stupid to understand" I cant in good conscious stick around. I spent years watching it, and I hope in some small way, helping it grow into a professional site. If its gotten to the point where that is no longer a goal, or a prerequisite, its no longer worth being here.

I am currently in a game with an obvious multi; his second game ever on this site and he has clickies; not that this alone constitutes cheating but it was the way he played according to the game log. He now has something like 64 total games played and of course, freemium. He was reported by people in the past and found to be cleared via checking the IP address. Soooo, thats it, case closed, end of story. Manipulating an IP isn't a hard task so im told. Point being, he was checked and cleared, therefore, its a done deal. Aside from the dice, the cheating also is rampant around here and it will never change. Ive been around here a long time and seen several people come and go. It now seems like there are A LOT more freemium members than I can remember. This site seems to push people away as apposed to keeping long time members. You see it Fitz, several long time members have either quit or found it necessary to stay, on a freemium level until issues are resolved. Three years for me and the core of the site is the same and will never stray.

After denying one of the many game invites on Facebook, I came up with this quick note as an apology:

"An undisciplined soul, must be very disciplined in avoiding habitual vices." AAFitz I may have polished it up a bit. I also doubt its original, though it definitely came from the top of my head.

I think perhaps this can summarize many a soul on CC, and no doubt applies to me.

The combination of locking it, and the shortness of the reply, were surprising. Knowing Miles as I do (MNDuke), he is foul mouthed and likes to bitch about dice, but I didn't see anything but venting in that thread. I have to admit that since everyone started bitching, I've reinstalled dice analyzer to see how I'm doing.

If both opponents think the dice are unfair...doesn't that make them fair?

It's consistent, sure, but if it doesn't follow the expected probability results, then it's not fair.

How isn't it fair though?

Let's say the dice leans toward the defense...that's still "fair".

It's not fair in the sense that it's not what one would normally expect from a roll of 3 dice versus 2. Remember, it's not about whether the result is fair, it's about whether the dice are fair. Fairness of dice has a contextual meaning here.

However, in the last month Ive seed ones become so strong as to expect to lose when I attack with big stacks, so often, that the fun of the game is gone. The odds used to make sense as I played. I always knew there was a chance of losing 6 to 1 7 to 1 9 to 1, but I hardly ever saw it, and now I expect it. There was a thread about it too, but this was the last word officially spoken in it.

f*ck this, next time the site will have a change in a tech aspect that is aimed to improve your gaming experience - no one will announce it and no one will know about but admins. No bitching, no complaints.

This is so wrong, your attitude and declaration that someone is trying to create a whole system just that you lose more often and not against the machines, but against the real person that use the same system that should cheat on them too against other other real persons ...

It is better people don't know the some aspects about CC mechanics because they can't interpret it correctly. Better to say "we speeded up cc dice system", "we altered dice system to work better". And everyone will live happily.

Really, this thread was only a cause to start another dice conversation for people.

Ok. Youre right. f*ck this.

Fitz is a great player, partner, and opponent. We've all had bad streaks that have upset us. He had an outlet to express his frustration. He did it and I hope he reconsiders quitting. I always get more frustrated when my rank is higher than when I've had it drop. Friends let each other vent and then give them shit later. Lets do that because eventually we all get to the same place and need our friends to support us and then give us shit later, when we've recovered.

Oh don't go AA! We may not always ever never agree but I enjoy reading your books in between dice fails. (Like that freaking bonus being guarded by a 1 that I haven't been able to break for a few rounds now. That bonus they got on the drop)

Your right about the covert randomness we enjoy at CC. But occasionally we are able to enjoy a game or two.

Go ahead and stick around.

In my first post, I mention a tool you may want to try out. Its called maprank. Its AWESOME.

But dont worry, you won a full 46% of two player games against me. I wouldnt call that incompetent at all. Id go so far as to even call it promising.

I agree though, my 54% win rate against you sure could use improvement. Sorry as to not have been more of a challenge over the years.

I think Ill add another phrase to the few Ive penned so far.
