honestly have to say i think im against this... we dont have maps that would support it.

I use to be for it.

but after playing more and more quads, I realize quads just turn into a "kill someone first" race...

I think in 6 vs 6.. there would be 2 people each game that never even got a turn.

They would already be restricting starting position maps, so I don't see why they can't include small maps in the bunch. IMHO I think 10 players would be better to start out with as a sort of "beta test" to see if that even works. (I still think violet should be player 9 and drab player 10)

Just seems to make more sense having the less obscure colors come first.

The small map deal- play at your own risk. If people want to play 12 player games on doodle earth starting with one region, so be it. That shouldn't inhibit the fun that others may get from playing 12 player games on hive. It all comes down to how you like to play.

I would switch lime with maroon, but the order sounds good as far as colors.

There's already an example of maps with starting positions limiting players - the Age of Realms series. These maps can only hold 6 players a piece, but that doesn't mean we should cut from 8 total players to 6 just because we would have to limit the map.

you dont play a lot of quads do you/?

even on maps like Mexico, space, others of similar size, the 4th guy on the quads team doesnt always get a turn.

I dunno, I think you guys will be really disappointed if/when this happens.

map size is limited to 840 ><800 pix .. Hive is about the biggest with discernable terts. you can get. And im telling you this. in 6 vs 6.. Im not sure the last guy gets a turn in Hive either.

but whatever, gl with it.

On mexico and space if the last guy to go on your team doesn't get a turn you are doing something wrong. Also i can assure you without a doubt that no one will ever kill someone on the first turn in 6 vs 6 hive game without the perfect conditions.

Upping it to 12 players could also give mapmakers the incentive to create larger maps.

How? It hasn't been implemented yet.

And yes, if you do have a teammate dead in a quads on turn one, you're not playing quads right. Deploy/fort to save them, Duuhh :D

Also, it will only be a disaster to you if you choose to play it. If you don't like it, no one is going to FORCE you to play it. However, let the people who would greatly appreciate this implemented suggestion have fun with it.

Yeah honestly this isnt one of those suggestions that has a negative effect on those who dont want it so i dont see why it shouldn't be implemented

Now, while I support this suggestion, I feel that there will be abuse from some "farmers" creating 6vs6 games with non-sense settings attractive to only newcomers and distracted rookies. Most of these predicted games will have a clear pattern: deadbeating on team 2.

Battle Royale's are a lot different from 12 player games. They are intended to be only done during very special events, like the Mod Appreciation Day, and during the Anniversary. They don't have set colors for every player, and tend to change throughout the game.

Have you guys even imagined what a 12 man standard esc match would be like on a map like classic... Im telling you guys now, the 11th and maybe 12th man to take a turn are gonna be dropped before they even go, especially if its terminator. I have played it at 8 man (I play mostly 8 man terms) and at times on the first turn I will have 4 troops.


Im all for CC expanding and making things bigger badder and better. I just dont think this 12 man thing will live up to all your wildest fantasies.

Those that are smart wont join 12 player games on small maps. That is that.

MC has a small map like doodle earth, each player gets 1 tert when its 12 players, its Round 1 right now, almost everyone has went, and everyone is still alive, so that will not always be the case. Just play wise with the 12 player option.

well I see a problem with that "smart" thing....
you are on the forums here everyday man... how many "smart" people do you see... and those are jsut the 5% of CC'ers that get on the forums.


well like I said, Im not really opposed to it , I dont think it will happen really though... There are too many little changes that are great ideas that dont get implemented. But maybe im a pessimist by nature.

and if/when this change happens ill be the first to start 12 man term esc in brazil...

I just dont think everyone that has posted in this thread has really considered that this idea might not be as great as they think.

I suggested moving up to 9, seeing how it goes, and if it went well, keep adding in another player slot. But there was a huge demand to jump right to 12. The average map (I think) has roughly 42 regions. This will give at least 3 regions on a majority of the maps, minus regions with <36. If you don't like the idea of having a game start, and you have to be the last to go, play Freestyle. You will have a better chance of making it in before you are down to 1-2 area's.

Anyways, yeah, a huge amount of people demanded the jump be instantly be made without thinking what could happen on a majority of maps.
