Objecting to Clit or Testes, for example, is being over-sensitive. And this is coming from one of the top 5 over-sensitive players on CC. I'm also in the top 20 most reasonable players on CC, so that may balance it out.
This is a bad argument to make. Just because it s a body part makes no difference. Is the name offensive? Likely not to most people. Is the name in bad taste and something that can be fixed easy? Sure...

i want to understand where you're coming from, but i need more than you just saying its a bad argument. naming a part of my genitalia is not an affront to anyone.
and please lets not lose sight of the fact that this player is French. although the word is the same in both languages, i do not know if our Francophone players use the shortened word in the same way.

Using that logic, we should also allow references to pornography right? I mean after all, they'll just google it?

It was put in the original post about the french language. It is a pretty common sense question. If you shout the word "ear" in public nothing happens. If you shout the word "penis" or "clit" I am sure you will draw a reaction, and if there are any younger kids with parents, then even more of a reaction. When you have a site such as this, we need to be mindful of all ages. This is a game played by people of all ages. We should try to keep names, and chat as clean as possible. Just because 1 name has made it does not mean another should.

But are you to say that another parent should have to explain to their kid what a penis is? No, not at all. It is best just to keep words like this off names.
Where is the line drawn... Yes I have google. I can go look at yourporn. But where do you draw the line HERE-_ Some people draw it at the word clit. You dont have to agree with it. But you should respect it.
If I was introducing my grandmother to conquer club and I was at her house showing her this cool sight full of cool people. I would be embarrassed if ole clit joined her game. But you guys defend it as if your opinion is all that matters. Think about the lines that each person individually draws.
If this site has no lines, I would really like to see a youporn tab at the top. I would like a thread soley based on the different types of sex positions. I would like a singles thread with naughty talk.
Well... Im obviously not an angel... I obviously dont mind tossing out foul language. But even I agree with those here that would draw the line at some dude named clit or penis.

Bruce, this is the very point I was making in off-topics. This is a site filled with maps about real life wars. The Battle for Iraq map alone bring up many issues that would be upsetting for a 7 year old to learn about. In fact this whole site is dedicated to pretend violence. Why are we worrying about the correct words for female anatomy in the midst of all the war and violence glorification?

They come to this site knowing they will be getting into a war game. They do not come to this site to get porn references.

again, clit or clitoris is not a pornographic word. i agree that pornographic words should not be allowed.

It is surely a reference... dildo? Strap on? Erection? Where is the line drawn?

So then dick is worse than penis? Pussy is worse than clit? Personally all of those should not be names allowed on CC. I think those body parts in question should not be used as names.

Good then you fully agree with me, that this name should be grounds for a name change

Let me say this...I PERSONALLY agree with Bruceswar as far as how I WOULD LIKE IT to be handled. However, it appears to me that Conquer Club policy has made it quite clear that this is not an offensive ENOUGH term to be changed and following that precedent, it should not be. Surely it's not as offensive as Hitler?
...I prefer a man who will burn the flag and then wrap himself in the Constitution to a man who will burn the Constitution and then wrap himself in the flag.

I'm pretty sure if kids are old enough to find this site and sign up for it, they're old enough to either (1) NOT ask their parents about a word they saw on here or (2) Already know what that word is. The removal of the word from a username doesn't eliminate that word's existence. The only words that should not be allowed as usernames are racial slangs and slurs, only because they pretty much imply that one race is inferior to another.
I remember on one gaming website that had a chatroom, the word "Jesus" was blocked out (it turned into j****). WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE
Though this username may be distasteful or crass for some, I think it is still within the guidelines. I consider this case as a grey area and for me personally, I do not find it offensive.
It is nearly impossible to appease all sides as username complaints are usually controversial that whatever is decided, there will always be a disagreement or a debate about it. If this case has already been dealt with, and if you are to continue a discussion about this and make it a general matter, feel free to make a thread in the General Discussions. I will have to lock this one now.
