But yes, with skill, and mediocre competition, a map with win conditions can be utilized favourably.
Another tactic that's been working great. Set up a 3 player on Third Crusade, take enough shit up north to get a drop of about 20. Do this on your first turn with your manual drop. Let everyone else secure their shit. Skip a turn, two if you can do so safely. This is so nobody sees how many reinforcements you really get per turn. Then take your turn and secure your shit with your extra 20/40 troops. Then sit back and watch as you win the game. =D

Tip: Bragging about about your cheap tactics is not a good way to improve your status.

Also herk, I can only echo what others have said: doing this will not increase your player status, and you're bound to not make many good allies using cheap tactics- but whatever floats your boat.

Are you really encouraging him to write this in a strategy guide, so players new to the map spend their early turns attacking large neutrals for winning conditions? Or think skipping turns is a good strategy?

you realize that actually is against the rules not just cheap, unless you're teaching him in chat. If you want to help him privately, play 1v1, play dubs , get a 3rd player to agree in callouts (which is still officially illegal), or do it in chat.
