Actually, they have studied that. Scientists have found that incompetent people don't know they are incompetent. The good news, however, is that they can learn to recognize incompetence and change. So if you are not learning because you don't have the core competencies to learn, well you are also unlikely to recognize that weakness in yourself.

The key to overcoming this is "purposeful practice." In other words, you continue to work on your learning skills by trying to learn (practice) under the guidance of a mentor that knows what they are doing. So, it appears, finding a good teacher and practicing as much as possible is what it is all about. After all, that is how you get to Carnegie Hall.

The phrase "Youth is wasted on the young" refers to the idea that the young have all this energy/vitality/vim/vigor, but don't have any of the wisdom which would allow them to most effectively put it to use. It is not at all a reference to a wish to be young again.

The reading mis-comprehension here is not mine.
Please. Do tell me more. I don't understand English so well. We're supposed to start learning about it, on Thursday.

Ah, I didn't realize you were being intentionally stupid. It relates too well with your unintentional variety.

Thank you. That means a lot, coming from someone with such vast knowledge of my intentions.

You are quite adept at appearing to be a very pathetic individual.

There's no need to start teasing him about having been warned.
