It it random who starts a game?

I was just wondering because I haven't started one in like 10 games.

In a sequential game the player who gets the first turn is randomly chosen. In freestyle all players can go immediately once the first round starts.

Yes it is random
except in freestyle if you take the last turn in manual deployment
