You people have low attention spans...

Deadwood is one of my favs(not as good as The Wire, but still). And i didn't even have a clue that a lot of the characters are historical figures or some such.

I said I liked season 1 of deadwood...I just couldn't get into the second season and listed the fact that I missed an episode as a possible reason.

Just because Band of Brothers, Braveheart and Gettysburg sucked doesn't mean I don't enjoy long movies. LOTR is one of my favskis (inb4 someone says it's illegitimate for whatever reason) and I love the Gobstopper and other long movies.

What about There Will be Blood? I have to admit that beginning had me bored too.

So mant recomendations it's hard to sift though. Let me help.

The Wire. The Wire. The Wire.

I can't stress enough how great the show is.

Try Buffy The Vampire Slayer & it's spinoff Angel. It's great. Don't let the names fool you.

The Shield should also be high on you list.

Forget the rest, start with these. THen come back to me for more recomendations. I won't steer ypu wrong with crap like NCIS or shows that start great but have horrible final few seasons(West Wing, Oz)

You almost had me at "The Wire" but then I read "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and was soon going to expect you to write "The L Word."

Never could really get into NCIS LA. Just didn't stick like the original did.

And Gradybridges isn't quite right in the head. He dismisses some very good shows, and in their place, nominates crap shows. Most notably, Buffy. The only other person I ever knew to like the show was not exactly the brightest person on the planet. Made whump1 look smart (see if you can catch the reference!).

Buffy was awesome, it had everything: violence, werewolves, and lesbian witches. :P :P :P
nietzsche wrote:i love watching sitcoms or tv series complete in a few weeks, but i don't always know which ones are the good ones, which would you recommend me to watch? I've already seen the sopranos, arrested development, that's 70s show, a lot of scrubs, lost first 3 seasons, some seasons of 24.. like 5 seasons of family guy, south park..

If you enjoyed Lost then check out The Event. It's different then Lost but it has similar plot themes: sci-fi/fantasy, mysterious, lots of flashbacks, etc. etc.. I've also been enjoying No ordinary Family. And for a decent new sitcom check out Outsourced.

So does Twilight, but you don't hear me saying how great it was.

It's so boring. Of course everyone I know loves it (brothers, friends) because they all have a fascination with WWII. It's sooooo boring though.
So if you're fascinated by WWII watch Band of Brothers, otherwise give it a little sideystep.

I thought it was awesome myself, well written, well acted, beautifully shot, but I'm one of those poor infected WWII fascinated fools.

People who rip on Buffy have never seen it. It's one of the best written tv series ever and light years ahead of the Twilight crap.

And there lies your problem. Just because it's also focused on teenagers and has vampires in it, does not mean it's Twilight.

It has interesting, three-dimensional characters, great plot and character development, excellent writing and explores themes with interesting metaphors and isn't a simple sexual fantasy of a disturbed middle-aged Mormon lady.

I rip on Buffy, and I've witness over 4 seasons (hours-wise) of complete crap.

It's just a difference in tastes and preferences.

Why would you watch over 4 seasons of something you thought was complete crap?
