Refund for Dugcarr1

Dug has reported to me that he cannot do anything, from playing more games, to making posts and pms, based to the actions of the mods. It would be legal and wise to let Dug go along with his money that he had paid to keep an 1.5 year long membership to play in the once beloved CC. I would hope that CC will be fair to all members, no matter what kind of history the member has. I love CC, but Dug is my new ally and this BAN is affecting my alliance. This will be the last post I will make on the discussion of Dug.

To be honest, I don't know anything about this and you probably know more about Dug since you are a mod. I don't spend a lot of time researching all about Dug, you know what I am saying. I am a CC player and I worry about my games and my alliance. I am just reporting for Dug since he cannot post. These reports will be limited due to the fact that Dug is weakening my alliance as we speak.

u pay for prem membership to play more games and support the site. this is entirely separate to getting banned. if u break the rules u get banned without refund.

Hah! Get to the back of the queue. There's a long line of people dugcarr! has harmed by his behavior. I wonder how long they will have to wait for Dug to refund their money.

Yes it is unfair that normal members can pay their way out of the ban. It isn't unfair that Dug can't.

I guess I would put it another way:

It is a bit unfair that standard members who behave in a way to get themselves banned can essentially pay to have the ban lifted. That's not the way I would set things up if it were up to me. I think it's a bit unfair to the other members of CC to allow someone who has demonstrated bad behavior back for potentially more bad behavior.

I suppose the fact that a standard member is likely to be a relatively new member (I'm sure there are exceptions to this) might mitigate the unfairness on the theory that a new player may violate the rules through ignorance. If that's the case, then it should have been considered in the decision to ban the player. Again, this isn't the way I would do things, but I suppose it's an argument for leniency and giving a player a second chance.

Another reason is quite frankly financial. Paying for premium membership when you've been banned as a standard member represents something of a fine. Some small-town police departments support themselves to a great extent on the fines of drivers who speed through their jurisdictions.

I wish the mods could cancel these posts and we could get back to normal stuff. But I do perpetuate the cycle!

I do think it is unfair that an unregistered member can pay his way out of his ban. Still I think Dug's ban is fair, and that he received his just deserts. He shouldn't get any refund, and he shouldn't be able to pay to reopen his account ( not that I think that last thing would happen, but I thought I would comment on it).

I love the way that Lack has handled this decision. He showed true leadership, in that he applied principles and tailored the council and punishment to fit the individuals need.

We do we punish? Sometimes it is to rid the group of an unwanted, infectious element. I don't think this is 100% the reason for the decision, but it is fitting. The other reason we punish, is that it goes hand in hand with discipline so that the person learns their lesson and grows out of those negative behaviors.

I hope that dug learned his lesson, and will return repentant. I would have had no problem shortening his punishment if he had displayed true repentance. Instead he seems to be throwing a temper tantrum.

I wonder who helped him figure out 1.5 yrs membership was $30...? And, I wonder how he has the balls to ask for $20 of it that isn't his to begin with? Can't we just be rid of this waste of skin and get on with enjoying what is and should remain......a great site?

You can skip over the posts that have a lot of ALL CAPS and @#$%^& every third word; you won't miss anything important by doing so.

The short version: he conspired to break one of CC's two rules (no multiple accounts) and when he was discovered doing that and received a four-month ban from PM's and posting in the forums he proceeded to break the other rule (no secret alliances) by opening a large number of games in which he would partner with an innocent victim and proceed to screw his partner by throwing the game and both their points to the other doubles team consisting of his old cronies.

Finally, lack had enough and decided that CC and Dug were growing in different directions and informed Dug that his presence on CC would no longer be required. I think the term he used to describe Dug was griefer (you can look it up on Wikipedia).

Although I didnt agree with Dugcarrs actions when it came to paying off players to throw a game, I think its soooooo f*cked up to strip him of everything. If you wanted to suspend him for a while from playing games to hear from him or think logically instead of emotionally,thats one thing. But The Mods just shut him down completely. I love this site as do many of the friends I have made on here. Sadly, I have talked to a whole bunch of people who are ready to leave. This is our site as much as the Mods and I think it was unfair to 1. silence him completely, not being able to rebuttle
2. Cancel his games without even investigating
3. Take away part of our community

2. We tried the "for awhile" thing, and it wasn't even games, just forums & PM, and his reaction to that is what cost him his games.

it doesnt matter who payed, the fact is that the 20$ was invested into his account, now that he has been kicked off the site, the legal situation is to give him the money back.
