Rank your categories 1-6, and which $ amount to start with (example below). This allows me to send out a new map as soon as one is finished.
*Another option is to simply pm me with your next choice IMMEDIATELY after you close out a map. If I see a map if finished, and I don't have a choice in place I'll use the default -- first available block starting from the left column $200 down to $800.
CHANGE TO FINAL JEOPARDY FOR SEMIFINALS AND CHAMPIONSHIP...
I'm announcing a slight tweak to Final Jeopardy for the semifinals and championship board.
It will still involve a round-robin of 1 vs. 1 maps, but will also include a multi-player (4-person) map.
Scoring will be as follows...
ā¢ 1 vs. 1 win = 2.5 points per win (7.5 total if you win all 3)
ā¢ 1st in multi-player = 5 pts
ā¢ 2nd in multi-player = 3 pts
ā¢ 3rd in multi-player = 2 pts
ā¢ 4th in multi-player = 0 pts
* if players are eliminated in the same round, then points will be divided equally for those spots. Example...the 2nd and 3rd place players are both taken out in round 12...then those points would be added (5 pts) and divided between the two players giving them 2.5 each.
For the Final Jeopardy wager...players that total 7 points or more get their wager added; below 7 and it's deducted.
Here's the basic breakdown on how to get your wager counted...
ā¢ Win the multi-player and one of the 1 vs. 1s
ā¢ Finish 2nd or 3rd on the multi map and you must win two of the 1 vs. 1s
ā¢ Finish last on the multi map and you must sweep all three 1 vs. 1s.
Two reasons for the change...the multi-maps play a big role on the main boards, so I figured they should be included in Final Jeopardy, too. Also, this opens up greater possibilities for the final wagering.
thanks all, flex

This was tried once before by another organizer a few years back, but snagged half-way through if I remember correctly. I think Iāve tweaked the format to make it playable.
Game style: Mostly 1 vs. 1 with some 4-player games
Requirements: Open to freemiums but must keep two slots reserved for this tourney.
Settings: Unless a category calls for special settingsā¦the default for most games will be escalating, chained, foggy.
Number of players: Iāll keep sign-ups open for 2 weeks and weāll see where weāre at. Iām willing to run it with as few as 16 players, but would preferably have a 64-player field (32 would be the other cutoff).
Game play will use a standard Jeopardy board with 6 catagories across and five $ amounts down. Game play is mostly the same as the game show with a Jeopardy and a Double Jeopardy round, finishing with Final Jeopardy. One Daily Double will be hidden on each board as well.
Hereās a link to what a sample board looks likeā¦
http://i222.photobucket.com/albums/dd27 ... sample.pngMain differences
1) Instead of the standard 3-player showdown, weāll play this is a four-person format. The top four rows ($200-$800 squares) will be reserved for 1 vs. 1 battles, while the $1,000 row will be reserved for four-person battles.
Weāll start the game with the bottom left $1,000 squareā¦the winner gets āchoiceā and banks the $1,000. The runner-up gets āchoiceā as well.
Play continues with a series of 1 vs. 1 mapsā¦players with āchoiceā select which square they want to play. If both āchoiceā players select the same squareā¦the higher ranking players gets priority. Win the 1 vs. 1 map and you gain the $ for that square and control āchoiceā for the next map.
At the same time, weāll be playing out the $1,000 maps in four-person formatā¦win the map, win the $1,000.
*Any player who loses or is eliminated in 5 rounds or fewer buzzes in with the wrong answer and has that $ amount deducted from their score. (4-player maps excluded).
Double jeopardy will be played in the same format, however, āchoiceā will be given to the third-and fourth-place players to start the round.
Daily Doubles ā One hidden square per game board allows the choice player to select the amount of $ they'd like to wager for that map. Players can wager out of the amount of money they have tallied so far. Win the map and that total is added to your score...lose the map and you lose the $. Because on the game show these squares lock out the other players, the challenger in this case does not win anything, and cannot gain choice...the sole objective is to see the choice player lose their bid.
Final Jeopardy will go as follows...
1) See the catagory
2) Make final bids
3) Round-robin with each player facing the rest of their group in a series of 1 vs. 1 battles.
Win twice to get the answer "correct"
Lose twice and you missed the "correct" response.
This will allow for more scenarios in the final round...3 players get it right, 2 & 2 or 3 players miss the question.
The player (out of all four) with the most money and the end wins the game.
Players at $0 or less (extremely rare) will not be able to play Final Jeopardy
(In the case of a 3-player Final Jeopardy...winning one map gives you a "correct" answer.
Winning the tournamentā¦
Based on a 64-player model
First-round winners advance to one of four semifinal games.
Semifinal winners advance to the championship
Winner of the four-person championship showdown wins the tournament.
*Money values are reset to $0 at the start of each round in the tournament.
Any questions, please post in the thread below, so they can be answered for everyone.
I will be using random.org to assign players to groups
