The biggest mistake is that y'all seem to think that a premium account is a paid-for service. It isn't. It's a paid-for privilege, and those can be revoked, with or without notice, as it says nicely in the rules, by the owner of this site.

The moment you Paypal that $20 to Conquest Club, it's gone. If you don't get what you want, you can complain about it, but it won't do you any good. Unlike Ebay or AOL, Conquest Club is not dealing in material goods, is not dealing in services in the legal sense of the word, is not a company, and, in fact, can be selling you hocus-pocus rings that claim to make you live forever and still won't get into any trouble. The most that will happen is that the site will be known for a scam and people will stop falling for it, enough so that the owner is forced to shut it down or lose money for keeping it up.

There should be no concern about "putting power in the hands of a few" because all the power is in lackattack's hands to begin with. Who owns the domain name? Who pays for the servers and all its upgrades? Who spends countless hours scripting the game and patrolling the forums?

The guy's making a living off of this, so he's interested in keeping it an enjoyable experience for everyone. It doesn't say anywhere that he has to be nice about it, or that he has to allow community input at all. He could be making more money by splaying a few ads and totally ignoring the community. He doesn't even have to have a forum! He has these features, however, because he seems to genuinely care about the well-being of the core community, and not only for the profit margin. And indirectly, he's also getting stuff back, in the form of regulars, new maps, and a volunteer staff - things he could not accomplish by being indifferent.

Personally, I think the unbanning of Dug would not cause enough damage, but the immediate upgrade to MOD would complete the job much better. In the age of "all is forgiven and here's a lollipop too" to proven cheaters (CC criminals, if you don't mind), it would only be RIGHT for lackattack to commit CC into the hands of the local anarchist heirarchy (see hendy for example) out of complete goodwill and to show that he has a heart of compassion and is willing to give the benefit of the doubt to those that so rightfully deserve to be pardoned... even if they NEVER ask to be forgiven. Punishment for wrong is so outdated.

when did I say he violated any rules? I could have, but I don't remember saying that... The only things that would or could make me think less of blitz is how he avoids playing people who call him out and fishes for feedback. Although I don't blame him one bit for avoiding standard games with people who call him out.

Nobody is saying dug shouldn't be punished (or atleast not me). I just think the punishment was extremely harsh. I'm having trouble seeing the (very fine) line of right and wrong. Create a multi and you get a slap on the wrist (mutis can destroy the point system especially over a perdiod of time, just ask medalofhonor lol). Dug was messing with the points system and trying to sabotage a certain individual which is pretty twisted, but to me, understandable considering that certain person can't stop boasting about their rank... Bragging about your rank at any chance you get and then refusing to play people who share your rank is like instigating trouble.

No it wasn't right what dug did, but I don't feel the 4 month isolation ban given to him was either... They could've banned him for like 2 weeks no CC and I would've laughed at him. 4 months of no interaction with the community is like egging him on to escilate the problem especially considering everyone knows the role he plays on this website.

sign me up ... there are some ridiculous things the mods have done, andy lack and wicked knows exactly what im talking about.... I dont really get on much anymore, i have been up to 112 games at a time, and use to play and be very active in forums, now it just seems the mods dont do their job. not to mention a lot of people on this site seem to be gods at turning a pleasant conversation into something that should be moved to flame wars. People arent themself on here mostly. One person, I wont say who, told me on yahoo to ignore all the flame bs they put up in the flame wars, because thats not really them, they are just being an ass. Ppl just seem to get some high off pissin ppl off on purpose, yes i know, jamie is one of them. but a lot of ppl are. All of these statements about if you paid it is partly your site. That is crap. You don't go pay to watch a movie and the movie theater becomes partly yours. You are not buying stock. You are paying for the right to play unlimited games amongst other things. We are paying for a service, a gaming site where we may come to play games. If you want part ownership when you pay for something, go buy stocks or other objects.

The creator and OWNER of the site has final say. Good business strategy would say a business owner should listen and respond appropriately to his clientelle. Not every suggestion has to be heeded.

I am not on either side as I have never played with Dug or had a beef with any Mods. Just giving my 2 cents because I am tired of reading how people paid and because of that they think they partly own the site. Everywhere you go you pay for some service or another but it does not mean you own it. Give suggestions, be polite, and hopefully if the suggestion is worthwhile, it will be considered.

Well, you all seam to believe Dug did not do the same. My guess is he had 10 times as many on his ignore list. I suspect he was very much afraid of losing points. He put players that he was afraid to lose against on ignore list. My guess is that Blitz put dug on ignore list because he was (to be nice) not a pleasant guy.

You seem to think that Dug had a right to play anyone he wanted to. That's simply not the way it works. He didn't have that right. I don't have that right. You don't have that right. No one on the site has that right. I think that's what's known as freedom of association. At this site we aren't forced to associate with anyone we don't want to, we aren't forced to play with anyone we don't want to.

Well, you all seam to believe Dug did not do the same. My guess is he had 10 times as many on his ignore list. I suspect he was very much afraid of losing points. He put players that he was afraid to lose against on ignore list. My guess is that Blitz put dug on ignore list because he was (to be nice) not a pleasant guy.
