I do not take solace in that fact. In fact, I take offense that you take solace in that fact.

And you can quote this - I know nothing about Casey Anthony or this case other than that she allegedly killed her child somehow. But killing a kid provides no peace to the child. At all. None.

How do you know that?

I mean what if dying is awesome and we're doing everyone a great disservice by letting them live?

Then again, it could be horrible as f*ck. But that's just it, we don't really know. All evidence points out that dying probably kinda sucks though, so I guess it's best to be safe.

We all die. This kid was going to die someday. Why is it better to die now than later? Because the kid had a shitty, psychopathic mom?

You're depriving the child of a possibly bright future. There's no peace in doing that.

I don't take solace in it either, in part because you cannot prove that she was "a mother not ready to be a mother". You don't know her, you don't know anything about her. The only opinion you have is based on the media firestorm that has surrounded her. Partying does not make a bad mother in and of itself. It's even conceivable that she didn't murder her child at all.

Too much partying is a gateway to being a worse mother than if she wasn't partying too much. Just the odds

Just curious, where is the father? She was a single mother, is that right?

I actually really don't know anything about the case or this woman. I'm simply commenting that it's idiotic and, as far as I'm concerned, ridiculous to suggest that a child should die rather than live with an allegedly horrible parent.

Well, I am speaking from the Christian perspective. I believe she is in heaven and happy. I did not word that very well. I said earlier I think the mother is suffering... this was more "whether she did it or not... then at least I take solace that..."
Anyway, In a nice world every child should be wanted, loved, etc. However... there are far worse things than death. Not saying death is great, but there are worse things.

I worded it poorly, and am regretting even posting in this thread.
You are correct that partying does not, in itself make her a bad mother. Some other things.. like the fact that she apparently lied about the first couple of days seem to indicate she was either highly deluded or not that nice a person.

My comment was more along the lines of "if she did it", then the girl is at least now happy. I said earlier I thought the mother was suffering. And, in any case, my faith teaches me that death is not a horrible thing.. but this isn't the thread to debate that (and I don't really want to debate it now, anyway... its a matter of believe, not fact).

There's a nice pic of OJ Simpson in hipster glasses with the caption "I was acquitted before it was mainstream"

(see Hipster Cat meme if you're out of the loop and don't get why that's funny. You may want to figure out what a hipster is first.)

I'd say her not reporting her child missing for 31 days, and then lying to the police ( who were trying to help her find her child) when her mother finally reported the child missing make her a bad mother.. :|

transcripts of friends interviews about how her mother would call her to come home and watch her own child.. her spending night after night at friends while her mother or imaginary nanny babysits..

Don't lie to yourselves. Children are a burden, and parents can't wait to get rid of them. Some just take a more direct approach...
