The Chiefs climb out of the cellar by beating the Vikings. Minnesota's showing the ill effects of losing a few players to free agency and they're a better team than their 0-4 start. The Vikes have the talent to still turn this thing around this year, which is something I doubt KC or Indy can accomplish without some amazing luck.

Russell Wilson's QB play at Wisconsin might shorten his NCAA career
and make him a high NFL pick too.
I just watched the Dallas/Lions game, and the fact that Stafford has Calvin Johnson makes him fifteen times as good as a quarterback. It's hard to argue that Fitzgerald is a better receiver when Johnson can literally jump up and grab anything.
Actually... I'm not worried at all. After blowing 2 games they should have won,
the Cowboys are a much better team than I expected this year and they will
be fine. How's your Bronco outlook?
Pick up Dirk? He's already got a Championship in his pocket
and eventually Romo, Witten & Co. will have one too.

Are you referring to Witten or Bennett as marginally above average?

As a long time Lions fan, I can understand undying love and hope for your team. But when Joey Harrington was our QB, I wasn't going around trying to convince people that Harrington and RB James Stewart were going to win championships. You have to be able to admit to yourself when your team lacks talent at critical positions, or any position. Tony Romo is not a great QB. He is good, but it's his decision making. He consistently makes poor decisions at crucial times. And good teams will make him pay.
And if Jason Garrett thought it was a good idea to be throwing the ball in the 4th quarter while trying to protect a lead (after his QB had thrown 2 second half interceptions) then he deserves a large share of blame as well.

I can't argue with any of that. You have to dance with the one that brings you... and Romo has
been a critical piece of the Dallas puzzle. I'm not saying "this is a Superbowl Year" but I am saying this team is better this year than I expected them to be. The Cowboys could easily be 4-0 right now, but instead thanks to some rookie-like decisions on the field are 2-2, which is exactly the record many people expected at this point.
If the team improves over the course of the season to actually be a contender, those two Romo induced losses could easily be factors in missing a playoff spot.

True, but this is the same Romo who came back and played with a fractured rib and collapsed lung to win in OT vs the niners. While we might point at Romo's play in the losses and say "the Cowboys could be 4-0", you could just as easily point to his play in the wins and say that "the Cowboys could be 0-4".

There does get to a point where you need someone who can not just some of the time. Romo's had more than enough time to prove himself and he's proven that he's inconsistent. One day he fights through a collapsed lung and is destined to "prove all the haters wrong". Another day he blows a 24-point lead. There's no room for Jekyll and Hyde in the NFL.

Problem with this is, Romo is better than Kitna. He is a good quarterback, even though he's inconsistent. Dallas is stuck with him. They're too good to blow the team up, can't draft a good qb because of where they'll be drafting, so they have to stick with Romo and hope the rest of the team can overcome his brain farts. I'm sure Indy would take Romo in a heartbeat, but for what? Dallas can't get value for him. So they're stuck.

Romo's not going away... except to away games. Don't worry about him, barring an injury he'll be fine. You're right Andy, lot's of teams would love to have a QB like Tony in their huddle and that includes Dallas. The love/hate relationship between fan's and their QBs will always be there.
That's definitely the worst kind of loss before a bye week though.
I dunno why everyone gets on the Romo-coaster when Grossman is equally enGrossing to watch.
Granted, there's no chance the Skins could be 0-4 (we stomped the hell out of the G-men), we definitely could be 1-3. Realistically though, we should be 4-0... 1 blocked field goal that goes through and we would have had the Cowboys. (I'd use a sad face, but I really hate emoticons)

Yeah, he isn't going anywhere. And I'm not a cowboys or Romo fan. I just like to watch the shuffle of quarterbacks, some of which who find new prowess on new teams.
The Cowboys nation will love Romo again after a visit to Foxboro in two weeks
and a win over the Patriots.
Change of venues for QBs? Donovan McNabb is floundering with the Vikings while
Matt Hasselback is on a roll with the Titans. Orton's been decent with the Skins
and the Broncos', Falcons' & Bears' coaches are left scratching their heads.
Bengals and Panthers both see a bright future in the play of their rookie QBs.

Romo has a better track record than Grossman. You're not going to win every week with 143 yards, 1 TD and 2 picks. Beating the Rams in their current state is nothing special.
