Orton starts his first game, beats the best team in the NFL.
I don't even
Heart breaking. We didn't get single interception, which was the difference.
It was depressing. I was forced to watch the Giants/Washington game, but from what I watched in the GB/KC game, GB just got straight up beat. I looked at the games stats before the Packers' last drive and saw Rodgers was around a 40% completion percentage.
Teams like NO are going to look at this game and be ecstatic.
The packers will be better for it though. Every year they totally blow at least one game, this year it just happened to be later than normal. After a loss like this, they always come back at least twice as good, so we'll see what happens.
KC dominated the first half, but only came away with 2 field goals
and benefited from what looked like a blown call Chiefs TD later.
At least the Pack no longer has to think hard about resting players
for the playoffs.
Skins absolutely dominated the Giants. Newton passes the Texans easily
while the Titans surrender a win to the Colts and a playoff spot to the Steelers.
The Broncos got off to a fast start with 3 scores on 3 possessions. But a near perfect 1st Quarter is followed by a disaster of a 2nd, with only 8 offensive plays and 3 turnovers resulting in 20 unanswered points. I picked the Pats, but will be pulling for Denver all game. 27-16 at the Half.
People talk about how 'Tebow's been riding the defense', but when the defense plays like shit and Tebow plays well I'd like to see them give Tebow credit. Hernandez had a huge game...he was faster than our DBs and much stronger. Those 3 turnovers are painful but the most depressing play of the game was on a 3rd and 24ish and the Pats near their own goal line and we get a hands to the face called against us and they get a free first down.
Our defense played poorly, we had too many turnovers and we were undisciplined with a bunch of penalties.
I'm not terribly discouraged though because the Raiders lost.
Army of GOD wrote:the Pats tore us up. Hernandez seemed to be open every play.
The middle of the field was open every play and the Bronco Blitz got burned
again and again and again.
But it wasn't even that he was too fast or strong for us...so many plays we had absolutely blown our coverage. And, though the Pats gave up yards like a hooker gives out STDs, I have to admit that I don't remember a blown coverage play on their side all game.
And after the Ravens got absolutely dominated by the Chargers (who, by the way, are catching absolute fire because it's December and Rivers is apparently one of the best QBs of all-time in December...but at least we still control our own destiny within the division) I'm still convinced the Steelers are the team to beat in the AFC. Roeth has shown time after time that he can hang with Brady in shootouts and the Steelers D isn't comparable to the Pats D.
Army of GOD wrote:And Roeth is playing like shit. They really shouldn't have put him in this game.
They ought to know better. They know what happens when Ben plays really hurt. Pittsburgh might be the one team with capable backups in the NFL, but they don't put them to any sort of good use.
The Pats are back in the AFC home field driver seat eh?
Sounds like Ben should have sat this one out and
taken time off to mend.
A good rebound game for San Fran after their desert debacle
against the Cards. With the exception of the Raiders all the
west coast teams rocked this week.
