Despite an absolutely terrible loss, the Oakland and Detroit wins mean that if San Diego beats Oakland next week, regardless of the outcome of the Den/KC game, we'll make the playoffs.

Crazy day yesterday eh? A couple major thumpings in Buffalo and Detroit
and the Eagles owned the Cowboy's this season. The Jets did everyone
who is playoffs bound a favor by letting the Giants prevail, since Philly is
definitely the best team to not make the post season.
The Philadelphia defense at the moment is built to match up well against Dallas,
but unfortunately for them, they matched the Cowboys record of allowing five
comeback wins against them.
Looks like there may be a couple win and you're in scenarios next week.

The Ravens go into Cincinnati looking to lock up the AFC's #2 seed with it's first round bye and a 2nd round home game, while the Bengals need the Win to secure a Wild Card spot. So...
I'm flipping my pick and going with Cincy to pull off the upset.
Might as well flip the Texans as well since they're resting players
and go with the Titans.
Yates is ok... this game means nothing to the Texans except maybe momentum
leading into the Playoffs. I figure now they're letting Delhomme get some
playing time, just in case they need him.

Detroit would try to hurt the Packers' players. That's the kind of team they are.
haha I wouldn't doubt it. The Lions are such a dirty team. But going into the playoffs is so important that if they do eventually lose, I feel like it could come back to haunt them.
And wow, I'm watching the Miami/Jets game (local game) and it's just absolutely terrible. I don't think either Moore or Sanchez threw a pass over 15 yards in the air.
The only interesting play was one that just happened where Jaston Taylor picked up a fumble and scored a touchdown but it was called back. What a way to end a career if it stood.
My fantasy: Jets pick up Peyton Manning and bench Sanchez. Sanchez gets mentored and learns how to make good decisions. Kid's got a good arm, but he keeps blowing it.

Heck... Rodgers, Brees and Brady have all had a MVP Season,
and Flynn had an amazing day.
Actually Eli Manning has been Captain Clutch for the Giants too.
Think the Broncos are ready for the Steelers
with one FG after a muffed punt recovery.
Packers/Saints on the NFC side of things and the Pats/Ravens in the AFC
have to like their chances now.

Hey guess what... he's up for free agency this year! Maybe the Jets should steal him away.

Lost in everything else - Matt Stafford became only the 4th player EVER to throw for over 5,000 yards. His 5,038 is good for the 5th best passing season in history, and yet, no one is talking about this. And did you know this is Stafford's 3rd season, and only is 1st full season? Dude is going to be great.
I don't know... this season has been really weird. So many QB and receiving records being broken. Also, regarding these records in general, there's more games now. Joe Namath's passing yards record was in a 14 game season. When there were only 14 games, no one else ever got close. Or how about OJ Simpson's 2,000+ yard rushing in one season? It was 14 games.
And the other consideration is that the first game of the season isn't the same as the last game. A lot of these records have explosive numbers in the final two games of the year because so many players get tired. Their bodies take a beating, key players get injured.
None of this is to downplay Matt Stafford. Guy is clearly a big talent (with an awesome receiver in Megatron), just that this year is oddly unique in terms of production from offenses and also, it always annoys me when people start listing fuckers like Brees ahead of Namath when Brees has two more games to get to play per season.
