Ok yeah but those fonts are way smaller than what I have on the map, you can see it clearly from that example that my fonts are larger... With the font I have, the Bulgaria label does not fit in that position without also overlapping with the Romania/Ukraine border (I tried it!), and I just feel that makes the borders less clear... Nor does the Romania label fit in that position without overlapping with the 3rd digit of Bulgaria's army number.

How about I just move the army number of Romania a pixel or two to the right so it isn't so near to the bulgaria label? That should eliminate any chance of ambiguity without causing any additional problems.

Is this not ok? It looks just fine to me.

Play with your own toys!

Seriously, if you want to fiddle with it be my guest, but I doubt you're going to find anything that I haven't tried. The font name is Oldtypefaces medium, 14 px, with hinting enabled - I think it's from dafont...

Yeah it's not bad
How it looks if you put the Romania troops next to the mountains and the name straight (not curved) but rotated a bit to right under them?

Must be said, I have nothing against your current layout it's just htat i know that someone will bitch about confusing the bulgaria troops....

It'd look like this:

I have to say I'm really not too keen on this arrangement either... It looks weird having the army number so far from the territory center, it just doesn't look right to me... I'd prefer keeping the current version, but that's just my preference.

natty, what about this:

add Crimea name under its numbers, Bulgaria numbers add where name Bulgaria starts now and name Bulgaria add where are Bulgaria numbers now and a little bend up, so part of Bulgaria name will be in sea?

Ok no, that looks horrible.

What I posted last is the best option and I don't think there's going to be a better one.

Sorry, but it is horrible. There's no balance, the text goes all over the place, the numbers are all over... and the sea would get jammed full of text & numbers. And bulgaria's label looks like a sausage.

What I posted last should be clear enough for anyone with half a brain, and it looks much better, the text is readable, numbers are clear and all the necessary gameplay elements are visible. I really don't see any reason to change it, unless someone can show me a clearly superior arrangement that doesn't present any additional problems.

Couple of final minor adjustments:

Large Version:
888 partially cover sakhalin and sulawesi

Small Version:
Can you make more visible the "en" of South Sweden?

Ready with the stamp as soon as those are done! :)
