Not gonna lie here. The April Fools hoax that CC decided to engage in sort of encouraged this behavior and idiocy. I'm not condoning "BestintheWorld's" comments by any means. Although, if I had a dollar for everytime I've seen a slur or been offended myself in CC, I'd have a lot of dollars. It is the nature of the social networking beast. But that does not mean you don't have a right to be offended. I truly am.
In ending, I beseech you to ponder this once. If this one comment is truly the "BestInTheWorld," then what pray-tell is the "WorstInTheWorld" ? Food for thought.
Sniffle - bigotry isn't allowed in any form. Whether or not I'm offended is irrelevant, some people need to get their warning so if it becomes a habit they can be appropriately punished later for their infractions.

We understand that comments were made in the "Paddle" that were flaming, bigoted and/or baiting, but this will be the freebie for BestInTheWorld and the others that decided to use the fake Paddle to lash out at members of the community. Business as usual, though, from here on out.
Contrary to popular belief, C&A doesn't just arbitrarily make up the rules. This case was looked at, and in the end it went up higher than me and the decision was made to let it slide for April Fools'.

Is because the context. You failed miserably the point. If someone put "fag" as a reason to fictionaly ban someone, in the frame of Aprils Joke, you shouldn´t care about the morals of that desition, if is well spoken, if it amuse you or not, because essentially is was an inane way of putting whatever someone thought at that moment, appropiate or not. Is a hole in the system if you want, which it doesn't matter anymore since is removed completely of the site already. The fact that people makes this kind of reports, just highlight something that should be already in the oblivion.
If you are offended because you read in a web site, IN APRIL'S DAMN FOOL DAY the word "fag", and then it upset you that much that leads you to make a spurious CA report, i just can tell you, that you missed the whole point.
I'm sincerely worried about your moral integrity outside CC, if you ever use internet for something else than playing risk.

And your worried about "moral integrity" from a sinple report i made here? Seriously? Grow up and get a reality check. This is about punishment, severe infractions and consistency in reports using a system that they (the site) put in place.

i'm always conflicted about these reports.. we use a lot of words between friends and ourselves that many would be offended over... the problem on-line is the context and the way a person expected it to be taken... If you are simply offended by the word without any context whatsoever, I would say grow some thicker skin.. That said, making the report is justified, and then it's up to the mods (in my humble opinion) to investigate it further for some contextual reference... I'm not sure if one friend calls another friend a "fag" that everyone should get there bigotry radar up.... seems people nowadays look for something to get offended about, or to report someone to be vindictive (not saying this is the case here)... It would be great if everyone was pleasant all the time, but that is unfortunately not the world we live in, nor, in my opinion, will it ever be....

are you saying that black people don't use the N word? lol... would you be offended if two black people on this site called each other the N word? it's context, and what is expected between the two involved, no?
This case has been reviewed by the admins again due to the fact that it does, indeed, break our conduct code on bigotry. BestInTheWorld, and a few others, have received either warnings or the scaled punishment if they were past a bigotry warning.
Personally, I would like to apologize to everyone who was offended by the language used in the fake "Paddle". I should not have been so blunt and curt in my response, and I hope this does not color anyones' opinion on our work here in C&A. We DO try our best, even though it seems sometimes that we judge unfairly and/or without thought. There is always deliberation, and on many of the larger or far impacting cases, there is quite a bit of discussion before we decide anything. We respect all of the communities opinions on matters such as this, as always, and thank you for showing us that it was not acceptable even as an April Fools Day prank to let it slide.
I realize that this case is listed as "closed", and this is my first time taking part in anything C&A, so please excuse my ignorance regarding its conduct.
But I'd just like to say that me and BestInTheWorld are indeed buds, we joke like this all the time, and I sincerely doubt he was trying to use the term "fag" in an offensive manner or in a way that would genuinely define a bigot.
