Why not 'Falklands/Malvinas Islas 1982' or something along those lines? All the other maps include both a location and date and I think that's a good practice to continue because the location/event name are much easier to associate with the map than just a year...

Because that is too long and will not go into the start a game page or any other page. It would just be shortened down to what it is now. I did have both names on the map around the title a long time ago but it was voted of during the making of the map itself. I have both the British and Argentine names on the map itself. Once players know the map, it is obvious. Anyone new to it only has to look at it.
