Favourite Beatles song?

Postby nietzsche on Sun Jun 03, 2012 4:42 pm

What is your favourite The Beatles song?

I thought we could suggest some and then make a poll.

I like "I saw her standing there", "While my guitar gently weeps", "A day in the life" among others.

I had to leave a few out, max options are 20, I removed about 6.

"Yellow Submarine", unquestionably.

While My Guitar Gently Weeps is the only song written by them I like. I still maintain that the Jeff Healey version is far superior, though.

I do like their rendition of Twist and Shout, too. But that's about it.

f*ck. Good inb4.

really the only Beatles song I can listen to is While My Guitar Gently Weeps, and that's really only because Clapton plays guitar in it. They're nothing but pop music.

While My Guitar Gently Weeps, A Day in the Life, and Hey Jude are all good ones, but they're more on the somber side of their songs.

Currently, I've been more about their pop and love songs, so I like Hello Goodbye, and All You Need is Love.

There's too many good ones to choose just one best beatles song though.

It can be good, but only if we're in the 80s.

I just think they're severely over-rated. Harrison was an average guitarist and most of their song-writing was nothing more than teenybopper food.

Ok, so I admit I'm just pissed that most people consider them to be a better band than Queen, which in my opinion is no contest, but whatevski.

But they created. They created a lot of music.

Most likely the guys you admire only go deep in their troubled selfs and write in the best way they can allegoric messages.

There's room for everyone, Pop music only means popular and what if you can create something that appeals like everyone? Is sex bad? because everybody likes sex.

It's way too different the pop music of the beatles than the pop music of the backstreet boys.

We've been thru this AoG, you dislike everything.

Who cares if they created a lot of music? U2 created a lot of music and they still only have one good song (Sunday Bloody Sunday, though Bono tries his hardest to ruin it). I just can't stand the cult following they have. From a purely artistic appreciation standpoint, I think they're shit. Their songs are catchy, yea, but in the same way LMFAO's songs are catchy.

They're lightyears, creatively, behind the likes of Queen, Pink Floyd, the Who and other bands.

The Beatles are the Beatles because of how they screwed up an entire generation and culture and made them create aids.

Meh. They were in the right place at the right time and had appeal because they were nice, polite Englishmen. There music and talent was mediocre.
