I'll rephrase the question.

Have you ever been to an art gallery?

I went to the Louvre once, but mostly I was interested in seeing the location of The Da Vinci Code.

No.

To put it in to more readily understandable terms, you know when you see a piece of art and you think "my kid could do that", but then you go home and realise that you don't have a kid and that you'll die alone never having accomplished anything even slightly equivalent to what you saw on the wall of a gallery a mere few hours earlier?

Cause that's us, Mets. We're the forgotten kids. The lost inspiration and the lost muses of our own generation of forgotten artists. No poems for us, and no art for us.

This post should be read to out loud to any song by Coldplay.

I will never think that. For me, art doesn't have deep meaning. Some art I find visually appealing; none do I find intellectually appealing.

Oh, I thought "Mets" stood for the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

I'm hoping this thread becomes a version of the forum regulating itself. You are getting quite obnoxious Symmetry.

The reason you like one and not the other is it's easier to like a two-dimensional poster than a three-dimensional one.

Are not all posters three-dimensional? A poster may look two-dimensional because it appears flat; however, upon closer inspection, we realize that it is in fact three-dimensional.

Well, I'm glad you asked as I feel the two can easily be misinterpreted. I will ask you this, however:
Have you ever been to an art gallery and think while viewing a piece: "There is really no substance here but it's so vague that I can fill in the blanks to make it meaningful."? I don't credit this meaning to the artist, I credit it to the viewer.

Have we been speaking of posters or forum posters? :p

Your question is very difficult to answer. By substance, do you mean 'what it represents'?

A piece of work of a poster or forum poster can be purposefully vague in order to allow the viewer to impose his subjective meaning into it. This, I would credit to the artist. Or, if this was unintended by the artist, then I would credit it to the viewer.

I'm not attempting to argue with you. I wouldn't resort to childish insults if I thought that it was worth attempting to make reasoned statements to you. Instead, I will just call you a douchebag and leave it at that.

No need for the dodge dude, I already knew you were a member of the clan- you post it at the end of all your comments, after all, somewhat obnoxiously of course, but I suspect you've made it automatic at this point.

Do you consider yourself a bullet=proof bandit? Or is it the kind of thing you obnoxiously claim after all of your posts? On loop?

In case you're not familiar with clan signatures:

viewtopic.php?f=57&t=73227&p=1763689&hilit=clan+signature+clan+signature+#p1763689

Basically, all or most members of a clan put a standard signature in their signature lines to identify as a member of that clan.

If my particular clan signature bothers you, I would recommend that you look for all members of the Bullet Proof Bandits and put them on foe.

If you're asking me whether I am personally bullet proof or a bandit... I'm not permitted to reveal personal information on the forums.

It is difficult because it's hard telling not knowing.
Sometimes I feel that elaborate posts immediately get ripped to shreds while the "one liners" are left undisputed because, hey, who knows what the hell they really meant? I also believe the two dimensional personas are treated more leniently because they appeal to our human nature to place people in nice little stereotypes e.g.: class clown, wise old seer, etc.. I am not implying that any forum posters aren't three dimensional in real life, of course they are, but their personas on here are not. This is fine if you are into this type of thing but I wonder if it's fair to dislike people more because they appear more human in their posts.
