I have a degree on Software Engineering, but do not work as one. I worked only 1 year on the field, as I was disappointed at the level of responsibilities compared to the pay. People doing easier jobs were doing the same or more money than I.
Computer hardware improves drastically every 6 months, it's impossible to keep up unless you are in the field, and even if you are in the field but you are not buying or working with the latest every day you need to read quite a bit before deciding.
I could do without asking here, there's a lot of reviews on technologies and complete systems on the web, and even on where to find the best prices, but I enjoy the talk here. It's like women talking about those shoes they want to buy.

I never said I was gay.
It was implied.

I'm not apologizing to you.
Are you telling me that you'll never have to say you're sorry?

but mSATA or SATA III ? That's my doubt right now.

I have a laptop. Every time I want to use it, I have to take it out of its case, dig out the DC rectifier from under the seat, plug it in, plug the AC adapter into the DC rectifier (funny how in order to get 9V DC I first have to convert 12V DC to 120V AC and then convert it back almost to the form it started in) wait 10 minutes for the thing to boot up, plug in the cellular adapter, wait another 10 minutes for signal acquisition, and then finally I'm online.
People with tablets turn them on and they're online. I'm so fucking jealous.
I have both and i somewhat agree with your point, for quick notes and quickly looking up things (digital school books, internet, etc.) i usually just take my ipad because it's much quicker.
However, when i really need to work on more advanced documents like reports or excel sheets, than i prefer using my laptop for obvious reasons.
On an average day at school I use my laptop maybe for about 20 minutes a day (probably 3 or 4 days of the week i don't use it at all, but when i do i use it for an hour or 2). But i spent like at least 5 hours on ipad. In the train i never even bother taking my laptop out of it's case.
So i'd not say laptops are completely replaced by tablets, but tablets surely take over many of the tasks a laptop used to fulfill.
Well I don't know much about computers and I could be wrong but the Linux appears to be a more powerful arsenal than the windows. The Linux is capable of firing more rounds per minute than windows. Hell, the Linux fires more rounds period and appears to have more of a recoil as well.
But the recoil is acceptable in a Linux computer because of the greater capacity for damage control that you can do. Surfing the internet with this puppy means that you wont miss getting [to] that all important website that you've heard so much about. You simply can't miss with a Linux.
While the advantages of carrying a concealed computer goes to windows, Linux will certainly clear the hall way for you at school and down the street as well or at those crowded malls. But all that extra ammunition used by the Linux computer means that your financial budget should allow you to use a Linux in the first place.
And finally, the Linux computer is a real killer for online chat. You know how some times everyone just gets on your case for one misspelled word? Well the Linux computer will shut them all up for good. And with plenty of rounds to spare you can chat all you want and make your point quite clear and indisputable.
I hope that clears it up for you. Hope I was helpful there. If not it's probably because all I have is a windows. Sorry.
Well, they are updating the wireless card for free, this one is supposed to be a 30 dls value for free.
The upgrade to 16GB RAM is also free, and I missing the free upgrade from 500gb to 1TB because I'm choosing the SSD. I could get the SSD as a mSATA, and use the free upgrade to 1TB in the regular drive, but I was thinking that maybe is better to have the SSD as a normal 2.5 drive in case I want to use it in the future in another laptop.
The Inspiron 15R Special Edition is 913 in Amazon. (900 in DELL.com but I rather buy it from Amazon for their costumer service). I would only have to buy a the Crucial 128GB, which is on a good price in Amazon as well (106) and a caddy to make use of the normal hdd it comes with.
Since the laptop is below 1000, I can use an import service and pay little for shippment, which cannot do with the Sager because it's 1200.
To have the laptop in my doorstep, I would pay (Including import taxes)
1300 usd for the Inspiron 15R Special Edition and I would have an extra hdd of 750gb (70usd value) although I already have a 500gb hybrid hd unused.
1550 usd for the Sager NP9130 and I would have 16gb of ram instead of 8, a better video card (I'm not a gamer tho), better Wifi card
both have the same chipset, the Sager has better audio and fingerprint reader which I won't be using. The Sager comes without Windows license (not a big deal)
I have to decide today! Help me decide.
