Is this year's April 1 forum theme better than last year's?

And by better I mean less painful.

Last year's was definitely more physically painful, but I feel like this year's might give me some kind of long lasting psychological trauma.

Meh. There doesn't seem much to it this year. What, he changed the typeface and made our names pink? Is there something I'm missing? Previous years were more creative. I really liked the "Swedish Chef" one. ("burrr de be de be de boo Bork bork bork") So did Lackattack sell out to Hasbro or something?
The right answer to the wrong question is still the wrong answer to the real question.

Why does there have to be anything done on April 1st? Isn't it about time we grew up and ignored this sort of thing?

One year, we didn't do anything on April 1st, and that was the joke.

Better in as more effective or better in as less cruel? Last year's taught me the meaning of loss.

What was last year's? I've forgotten.
This has given me a new experience though.
I don't think I've ever typed in comic sans before.
Have to admit I got all the way reading through the announcement paragraph about comic sans before I realised it was a joke - I was groaning inside in true horrorthat this was CC's chosen re-design.

I like the fonts. Can we keep them (less the pink bit)?

Comic Sans is fine (we use Calibri at work so its not toooo distant), but the line spacing and relative font size annoys the crap out of me.
I go to the gym to justify my mockery of fat people.

I think this year's is Fab. If it's not permanent I'm going to make a suggestion that we be able to switch between the two at will from now on because after a day I don't want to go back.

Being interested in the study of Typography and understanding how different fonts effect advertising and formatting for marketing schemes, I absolutely cringed when I noticed everything was in Comic Sans.

Well played.

Better than it was a few years ago, when they got rid of Flame Wars on April Fools Day. Most people thought it was a joke, until the next day, it was still gone. Yeah, OTs forum was flooded by the flamers for awhile until they either mellowed out, left, or were banned.
"Eh, whatever."

Cannot even remember last years one. So many good jokes to be had and we get pink names and a new font. :(
