I realize "Clicikes" is not a site thing HOWEVER!

Post by L M S »

You wanna do something great that will positively impact EVERYONE?

Fix the third party version of clickies to work properly and implement it into the site. (site clickies suck)
OR
Give us the same functionality and options and publish a how to on how to use it to make site clickies function exactly like the third party version does.

C'mon man, its so bad right now that the site is virtually unusable.

I know you have it in you BigWhm, to get this done.

I believe it's on his list. Maybe not right this second, but it's not far off.

I'm happy to hear that a fix is on the way however, the site is still totally borked.
Yes, I tried BigWham's temp fix.

They don't care about the add-ons...only that the majority of long term members use them. New sign ups to play 4 games and disappear is the goal. Shit this is the way Chinese think, make your money quick and no long term foresightedness!!

I don't think that's true at all.

The add-ons were developed because some awesome players contributed their time and expertise, for free, to create useful tools to enhance the CC experience. I was one of them! But the reality is that the majority of those people are either no longer around or no longer willing to update their scripts.

No website can progress and release new functionality when its user base is reliant on third party scripts written by developers who are no longer active. It's not sustainable.

The latest update was intended to improve the game page UI by implementing the panel system and by implementing the majority of the functionality that BOB previously provided. I think the experience for a new user should be improved quite a lot. I also think that it's a rocky transition for those of us who currently use a bunch of different scripts. But hopefully new updates will be released and any bugs that we find and report will be fixed.

I replaced my original words, they came out as I intended. :)

People volunteer their time for a variety of reasons, and they can stop doing so whenever they like. I don't think any script writer had some sudden realization that they were contributing their time to a for-profit website and decided to quit in protest. They wanted to write scripts for CC previously, and now they don't. We no longer have many script writers, but we do have a site owner who wants to improve CC for everyone and who is invested in making changes to see that happen.

Also, feliz navidad, jesus negro! I think the upcoming holiday has something or other to do with you, though I'm unsure of the specifics.

Holy hell.
The addons were created in the first place to make the site a BETTER experience because the admin didn't bother to consider best functionality for the users when they created the site.
The addons are a GOOD THING.
If the current admin had any sense at all, they would realize that 90% of the addons are FUCKING BRILLIANT in their design AND its what MOST of us use as TOOLS to make The Club MORE enjoyable.
For fucks sake, instead of trying to beat them down, fucking get with the program and INTEGRATE them in a meaningful way. All the hard work has been done FOR YOU, FREE OF CHARGE.
That's a site upgrade I'd be willing to pay for....instead we get a f*ck-all homepage.
Whoopty-fucking-doo.

That's exactly what is going on. The add-ons are being integrated. Except it can't all happen in one day, so it's happening one piece at a time, and of course there's going to be some inconvenience along the way, just as when you renovate your house there's going to be a few moments of tripping over two-by-fours in the the lobby. But integrating the add-ons is exactly what is going on.
