It is late November, 1888. It has been a particularly foggy autumn, and one full of terror for the women of London. Leather Apron, the Whitechapel Murderer, has claimed at least five victims. All of the victims were young woman, all known to sell their body for the right price. While only prostitutes in a poor area of the city had been chosen, women across London feared the touch of the one known as Jack the Ripper.
Outrage has risen from across the city, as the murders began more than three months ago, and yet no one has been caught for the crimes. The Whitechapel Police, Scotland Yard, and even a group of citizen vigilantes known as the Whitechapel Vigilance Committee have been performing investigations. More than 80 people had already been accused of the crimes, and more than 300 interviews have been performed.
At 221B Baker Street, Sherlock Holmes and John Watson discuss their own intentions to catch one of the most dastardly villains to ever set foot in the country of England. However, they wondered if Holmes' archenemy, Dr. James Moriarty, had anything to do with these crimes.
And evil slid silently through the streets at night, some more wicked than others.
How many more murders will the Ripper carry out? Will he ever be caught? And what of the other murders going on in London? Copycat killers? Was it the Ripper?
Well hi, folks. I hope this is fun for you all as it was certainly fun creating it. It is fairly straight forward, and I did not go about creating crazy new game mechanics for this game. However, I want to make it known that I have LOTS of bonuses (easter eggs) hidden in the game for you. Mostly it will be due to the game following the true progression of the hunt for Jack the Ripper, but I have some that are character specific or event driven in other ways.
As investigative units often do, there may be misinformation spread between agencies or discrepancies in reports. That is one reason why one of the most diabolical series of crimes ever committed has never been solved. Try not to have the same thing happen to you all!
You will notice that no character name was given a
color. I saw no need. If you can't figure out what side you are on, eesh... I don't know what to say to you!
Good luck, feel free to PM me with any questions.
