Dear Media,

Can we all agree that the term "Arab Spring" should refer not to a quadre of revolutions but rather a more poignant pairing. We should replace the association of Yemen, Tunisia, Libya and Egypt and instead use Iraq and Afghanistan.

Spring is a time of growth and beauty. There is nothing more growthy and beautiful than US troops terrorizing people. Spring brings to mind a sense of optimism, as it is the knell of summer, and people can look forward to Summer. Likewise, people can look forward to drone attacks.

In the next 2 months, both Afghanistan and Iraq are having elections. In the Spring.

Here's a real conspiracy for you.

The Deauville Partnership according to the United Kingdom:

The Deauville Partnership provides support for the historic political and economic transitions of the people in Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, Libya, Jordan and Yemen. The Partnership also includes the G8 countries (Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, United Kingdom, and the United States), the EU and regional partners (Kuwait, Turkey, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE).

Here it is according to the United States:

The Deauville Partnership with Arab Countries in Transition is an international effort launched by the G8 to support countries in the Arab world engaged in transitions toward “free, democratic and tolerant societies.” The Partnership includes Canada, Egypt, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Libya, Kuwait, Morocco, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, the United States and the European Union.

It also includes international financial institutions and organizations committed to supporting reform in Egypt, Jordan, Libya, Morocco and Tunisia.

There is nothing about Yemen.

Is this a typo, or something more sinister?

Ok, I figured it out. Yemen was added to the list in 2013. The state.gov site is obviously outdated.
